Rock Solid as a platform for Home Assistant !! Really easy to get up and running and been running 7x24 for 8 months without any issues. I am running with several hundred devices, loads of integrations, Node Red, zigbee2MQTT, MQTT etc and barely using 10% of available resources. Giving me loads of room for future tasking. It is silent as far as I can tell, low powered and I have it on an uninterruptible power supply along with supporting systems so it is always up and running. I have not detected any heating issues and if there is cooling going I can't detect it. I changed the setup so that it always started back up after a power outage just in case :-)

If you're only doing email, browsing, and office work, this tiny device is all you require. It has a better specification than most low-end laptops, comes with Windows 11 Pro, is quiet, uses minimal power, and is reasonably priced. Windows 11 boots quickly and runs well but it's easy enough to install Linux. It's probably too slow to play action games released in the past few years, but older or emulated titles would be fine. Recommended.

Early days, but so far all good. It was bought to run Home Assistant, and it does that very well. The processor sits at around 4% and both the PSU and the actual unit are cool, so hopefully this will lead to less longterm issues if everything runs cool. Plenty of USB ports, with both ethernet & HDMI also supplied. Only criticism is that it would be nice to be able to buy the same hardware but without Windows pre-installed, at hopefully a reduced price as no Windows license would be required. I would guess that a fair number of those devices wipe windows and replace it with a different OS.

FURTHER UPDATED 31/10/2023. - Beelink replaced my faulty N5095 (Mini S) Model after a little prompting, (see below) so I have added a star back for the support offered, albeit with prompting. I'll continue to update this review to take into account the longer term reliability of these little PCs. My advice for what it's worth is ensure regular backups are taken of the supplied SSD drive as their reliability is questionable given my small sample size. UPDATED 23/10/2023 Long term review of two Beelink U59 N5095 and one Beelink Mini S N5095. So after 18 months of run time with the two original PCs and almost 12 months for the Mini S I have deducted 2 stars from my original 5 star review (see original review below). As detailed below my first U59 suffered an issue with the supplied SSD drive and after some support and diagnosis from Beelink, a replacement drive was shipped out. Shortly after that the SSD on my 2nd U59 died! This time I didn't bother getting a replacement, but installed a Crucial brand SSD I had available and restored. So one original Beelink died in under a year and a second also failed just over the one year mark. This did not bode well for reliability. I have purchased many SSDs over the last few years for my RPi's/Laptops without suffering any failures. Crucial is my go to brand, but the no name SSDs supplied with the Beelinks cannot match these for reliability. Then just after 11 months the motherboard died on my Mini S. Not good. This lead to me contacting Beelink support who were very responsive and after asking me to try a few things asked me to return the system so that they could provide a swap. They kindly provided me with a paid postage label so that I could return the system (without my SSD which they suggested I remove) to their place in London. I know this has been received by Beelink in London as Royal Mail shows successful delivery and a signature. However Beelink are now being very slow in acknowledging receipt of the faulty unit before sending out a warranty replacement. I have waited nearly two weeks now with their support staff saying they cannot get confirmation of receipt from their UK office! Support is very responsive, but refuse to confirm receipt and dispatch the warranty replacement. I will update this review if/when I receive a warranty replacement from them. Original Review follows:- It has taken me nearly a year to write this review as I wanted to be sure that the U59 would meet all my requirements and be reliable. Background: I am a long time user of Raspberry Pi's for my server type applications and home automation software. The problem with RPi's is that you also require a decent power supply, a Memory Card (preferably large capacity to reduce wear issues) and an Enclosure. With the worry that the Memory Card will wear out leading to downtime and unreliability issues, many serious RPi users then go down the route of purchasing an SSD drive plus and enclosure for that drive to replace the Memory Card. By the time all these items are costed in and bearing in mind the recent chip shortages, RPi availability issues and price rises, I decided to look for a 'Mini PC' replacement. After reading a LOT of Chinese Mini PC reviews, I decided to take the plunge and test out the U59 (N5095) PC with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD drive. (Nearly a year later and the slightly faster N5105 chipset version is available). My aim was dump the pre-installed (on the U59) Windows 11 Pro and install Ubuntu 22.04 server on the system, and then migrate my applications from 3 RPi's running Domoticz/Node-RED/MQTT/Samba Server/plex Server/Docker Apps etc etc. Installing Ubuntu 22.04 from a USB stick was a breeze. Setting up the U59 to boot on power-up was just one change in the BIOS and I was ready to start migrating my applications. The U59 did not disappoint and over the course of a few days, I was able to retire my RPi's with their attached SSD's enclosures etc. The U59 PSU (12V 3A output) quite happily powered up the U59 plus Zigbee/ZWave USB dongles plus a 2.5" SATA drive which I re-purposed from one of the retired Pi's and installed into the U59's empty 2.5" SATA drive bay. The N5095 processor happily coped and 8GB RAM was sufficient for my server applications. A few weeks later, a second U59 (also with 8GB/256GB drive) was added, as I wanted a 'test' mini-PC to mess about with beta version etc. This system could also potentially be used as a standby if the first system failed. Then Beelink released the U59 Mini S so I decided to add one to the 'farm' as I wanted to try one of these N5095 processor systems running X-server accessed from my Windows laptop using 'Remote Desktop Connection'. It worked fine allowing me to run Java applications in a GUI environment. Over the next few months these systems worked reliably, quietly and sipped electricity requiring just the installation of software updates. So have I used one of the U59 in a gaming environment? Well, that's a no, so I cannot comment on the performance if that's your requirement. What I do know is that the U59 systems are great for what I've described above. Ubuntu runs fine, as I would expect to be fair. They are quiet and trouble free. UPDATE on reliability: After months of trouble-free use, I experienced a drive failure with one of my systems. Now having worked in the IT industry for (too) many years I know that things break. So what is important to me is how a supplier reacts to faults. I don't expect electronic devices to never fail. I contacted Beelink via their support link and received a reply within a couple of days courteously requesting some pictures of BIOS settings and asking me to try re-seating the M2 drive (which I had done previously). After giving the information requested Beelink support acknowledged the fault and have promised to rectify . So in conclusion, I am very happy I made the move to the U59 mini PC. They perform well and in my experience tech support is good.

I could've written a glowing review too, soon after receiving the unit; it ran well, nice and quiet, and despite one bad USB port, which I chose just to not use, I was pretty happy with it. However, 11 weeks and 5 days later, it's dead. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps on the manufacturers forums, nothing. No lights, no sounds, no video output. From what I can tell, this is pretty common with these units. Looking at the warranty terms and process, I think I'm just going to write off the £200+ I spent on this, and replace it with something more reliable. Caveat emptor.
