I initially had some trouble with the S/W setup. The physical installation is easy once you find the line side switch. I did have one switch die prematurely. I had some trouble setting up the 2nd switch. They replaced both switches. The setup problem turned out to be me trying to use on a light with 4 switches. This requires 4way switches and this device doesn't work properly if there are 4way switches in the circuit. So it was really user error. They worked closely with me to figure this out and they were prompt and polite in our debug conversation. When installed with a light with 2 switches, the only configuration they support, the switch setup and operates smoothly and easily.

I used this to replace the dimmer switch of a three-way dimmer arrangement (you continue to use one of the existing three-way regular switch, meaning you need only one of these switches). The instructions were easy to follow, even for a inept DIYer like myself. Once installed, it quickly connected to my SmartLife app, where you have on/off and dimmer controls, and can set programs to turn on at specific times or with events like sunsets/sunrises. The switched works without the app, so you can turn on/off from either side of the three-way. The switch has a tiny white light that is always on and a larger white light that turns on when the light is turned on.

Doesn’t work

I purchased and installed this 3-pack of GHome smart dimmer switches. Installation worked, though the manual was a bit confusing at first. What really disappointed me was performance. Two out of the three switches had LED flickering issues. One flickered at 100% brightness and another around the 50% level, which is very annoying. I even bought new light bulbs to rule out bulb compatibility, but the issue remained. I have contacted support and am still waiting for a resolution. Another downside is dimming control. At the lowest setting, the light is still quite bright, roughly like 20% compared to my Wemo dimmer. You also cannot adjust brightness while the light is off. The light must be turned on first, even when using Google Home or the GHome app. The app itself is difficult to use and program, and there is no simple way to gradually dim the lights at night without creating complicated step-by-step automations. Overall, I am returning these switches. I do not have the time to test and replace multiple bulbs just to make them work properly.

The switch works fine. It can be installed ganged with other decora switches using a standard decora faceplate. Just be sure you have access to a neutral wire for the circuit you are controlling. Connection and pairing were straightforward. Just make sure your phone is connected to the same WiFi SSID you want the switch to use. The wiring diagram in the product description is DANGEROUSLY WRONG! It has the black wire labeled "neutral" and the white wire labeled "live." White is always neutral! Black is "live" to use their term. The text in the diagram describes the live wire as "sending power to the light." It is the "load" wire that sends power to the light (or outlet, or whatever). Just ignore the diagram in the product description and follow the one in the instruction booklet. The product description says you can schedule the switch to turn on at sunset. This can be done with the Smart Life app but it is not intuitive. You need to create a scene (lol). Under "when weather changes" use the "sunset/sunrise" option for "if" and select the switch with an "on" setting for "then." You can schedule the "off" time as another scene or as a timer schedule setting for the switch device itself. Note: to view this kind of scene, you must select the "automation category rather than the "tap-to-run" category. The mechanical action of the switch seems a little flimsy. It makes a plastic squeaking sound during movement. We shall see how long it lasts.

These are perfect 3-way dimmers, as long as you don't need a dimmer at both location. These have to be installed at the switch location where the hot wire comes in. The other location has to be a regular "dummy" 3-way switch. The physical user interface is great. The app is also decent, although I only use it to set the switches up - after that we use a smart home app or appliance (like alexa or google home.)

Great product works as it should. Found the wiring to be very simple to install on the hot/live side of 3 way circuit it was perfect for my situation with my load side being a dead end this solved the issue of having to install the smart switch on the load side

I ordered the GHome Smart Dimmer Switch to replace existing dimmer switches we had in our home to be able to control them with our voice using the Alexa app. The switches were easy to install, came with helpful labels for the wires, and were simple to connect to Alexa. Note: You'll have to install yet another smart home app to use these switches. (I really wish the smart things community would get together and combine into a standard app.) Of the four switches included in my order, only three worked. One was dead on arrival. I wish I would've installed them all right away, so I could return the defective one. Other than the one DOA switch, the only negative comment I have is that they don't dim low enough. Our previous switches would dim significantly more. We would leave them on their lowest setting for watching movies, but the GHome switches are still so bright on the lowest setting, that we have to just turn them off and do without the low light now. If you are looking for dim lighting, you might want to try a different brand. The lowest setting seems to be about 50-60% of the full level.
