I bought this one during a sale. Initially it worked really well. My drink would stay warm, and I did not even need to use the lid. That lasted about two months. I bought another thinking I just had a bad one. Well the second would barely stay connected to my phone to adjust the temp through the app, I had Matcha Tea in one and the tea became stuck to the bottom. I could NOT wash it out. After scrubbing it, it stained green. It’s difficult to keep maintaining the temp while driving and after about two hours the battery is drained and needs to return to its charging pad. I guess it would be ok if you staying seated in your office all day and never needed to move around. I reached out to the seller because it was within the stated warranty only to be told to purchase another and I would get a credit after I reviewed the item. That doesn’t seem right. For the value, I would say, pay a little more for the named brand version. Two cups down in two years, and none are usable.

Was really excited to recieve this mug since I am constantly putting my mug in the microwave to reheat. This product is one major disappointment after another. Most importantly the temperature is very inaccurate. The mug says it's 60c, but is really 48c. The same temperature of when I usually place my mug in the microwave to reheat. So from the start this solves nothing for me. Other annoyances include the following. The rubber bottom is fixed with double sided tape and is not squarely in place so mug wabbles on the table. The mug comes defaulted to celsius, which feels disrespectful and careless. When selling a product in america it should default to fahrenheit (yes we should switch to metric, but it's not happening anytime soon). Changing the default unit requires using a phone app, which I did not want to do. Got this mug since it advertised it was possible to use without an app. You can only change temperature (in celsius) without the app. 10oz is not enough volume. And finally, the power adapter is 15v, which rules out most USB adapters if you wanted to substitute it with something less bulky. Returning...

The mug has some issues. One is that the instructions have a big error. It says to hold down the button for three seconds to turn it on. In reality, it is over 8 seconds. The second problem is the app is poorly made. It will only work on certain phones. It is touchy about what version of Android you have and the age of the phone. The app was written for older phones. It would not work with my 2 year old phone but works great on my 4 year old phone. And one more problem, it may take over 4 hours to charge the first time. It came with the battery completely dead. That should never happen. It is not good for the type of batteries that are in the mug. Once it is charged all the way, you are set to go. At least on my mug, the battery seems to be OK in spite of this. So if you have "the right phone" and you hold down the button for closer to 8 seconds, the mug will turn on and the app will work. Don't forget to let it fully charge before the first use. Using the older phone, the mug has worked flawlessly. It does what it is supposed to do.

I was really intrigued about this smart much and was excited to see how it may help me. I have a busy job and find that my coffee often goes cold so this was exciting as it possibly offers as solution. The device is really sharp in appearance. It looks well made and of high quality. It comes in three parts, consisting of a base, a mug and then the watertight lid. To use, the mug can be used on the base whilst charging or away from the base. By downloading the app and linking your phone to it, you get a wider range of settings and the ability to track the temperature. The app however is a bit glitchy and adding the mug was quite frustrating. After a reinstall though it finally worked. When you set the mug to heat or maintain heat, the app tracks the current temperature and displays it on the screen. This is in addition to telling you what target temperature you have set it to. To try it out I made my coffee and have sat with it for over an hour. It’s still 57•c at the time of writing this review. Essentially as hot as I’d normally drink it. Overall it is a really good idea but to be very honest cold coffee isn’t the biggest problem and I do find myself questioning whilst it is good, is it needed? I believe that as it has the ability to maintain warmth and heat that this is a great mug for commuting or for those with jobs that demand their focus moves throughout the day. A good product and I would recommend it if you believe it is something that would benefit you. It is a nice to have item.

It's easy to wonder about the genuine need for this type of product. I mean really, is it really necessary and does it make a difference in my life. Well, yes in fact it does, being a data analyst, finance analyst and app developer, it's easy to become so focused on the work that I'm always drinking lukewarm cups of tea and coffee. The product arrives in a neat package nice square box elegantly cellophaned. The product looks amazing and was so easy to setup I cleaned with a damp cloth downloaded the app and set the temperature. All very easy to do and with out issues. Now when I make a drink I have no fears about sipping cold coffee within the 30 minutes. The aesthetics of the product is also superb and it is certainly a conversation piece when we have visitors. Naturally keep out of the dishwasher but the product is simply amazing. On the app you can set the timer and temperature. And even a time if you want to keep the product full in advance. The product would make a good present also, as its fairly certain that the receiver won't have even heard of a smart cup let alone own one. Recommended.
