These work very well. However, they work only for one attempt. When you try to use it again you do not get the proper tension to create the indent. What I do (maybe its not necessary with others) is to slightly unscrew the bottom half and then retighten after each use. That seems to reload it and it works fine. It is so much easier than using a hammer. I recommend this product

Exactly as described

The two punches I received misfired about 20% of the time, right out of the bag. I expected this issue after reviewing videos on YouTube about automatic center punch failures, so I immediately took it apart and used a sharpening stone to polish the small end of the part inside the spring and also the striking weight with the hole that accepts that pin at the top of the punch. There are plenty of YouTube video's that describe this procedure. The punch is working without fail now. Very good punches for the money. From the videos I viewed it appears that automatic punches in all price ranges are plagued by similar issues. The divit pin on this punch appears to be of acceptable hardness based on the testing I have done.

Works as advetised

So overall I have bought about 6 packs! Which means I have received 12 punches. maybe half of them work. Some immediately didn’t work, some worked for a few months. If they would all work this product would get 5 out of 5.

They dont even work half of the time. You push them in and they have no resistance so it never punches. Then if you keep trying it over and over eventually it might do it once or twice.

Amazing, works great, just wish the end cap was not so loose, might just tape it on

I am new to woodworking. Someone told me to purchase these and I am not sorry. They are spring loaded and easy to use.
