Dr. Seuss's Beginner Book Collection: The Cat in the Hat; One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish; Green Eggs and Ham; Hop on Pop; Fox in Socks

I bought this collection for my niece's 2nd birthday because I absolutely loved reading Dr Seuss books with my 13 year old son when he was younger. I wanted a starter set for her and as this contains 4 absolute classics - The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs & Ham, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Fox in Socks - it seemed ideal. My niece loved them all, especially the wonderful Fox in Socks. As soon as she opened the present she had to be read each book and she wanted Fox in Socks read to her 3 times in a row she loved it so much! I just know that these books will give her (and her parents) many hours of fun. And because the books range from simple words (Hop on Pop) through to quit complex sentences (Fox in Socks), they will help her when she starts to read too. Highly recommended!

I read them myself over 50 years ago. Now I’m reading them to my granddaughter. We love the silliness!

These books are the classic size of Dr. Seuss books. I bought them for our granddaughter and they are a big hit.

Bought for my 5 year old nephew who is autistic. It has taken some struggles for him to learn to read but now he has grasped the rules of the alphabet and sentence structure there is no stopping him. Dr Seuss has taught him about rhythm and rhyme and about silly stories with unexpected words instead of the predictable structure of school books. He loves them.

Bought these for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday. On the day she was entranced by the Cat in the Hat story and, despite being very excited, sat and listened to the whole of the story. She loved the pictures. They are very clever books and such good fun.

Love the set! My daughter loves Dr. Seuss books. Had to order another one for friend's daughter as she enjoyed the books too at ours. Supplier was great as I had requested to deliver by a certain date - for my daughter's birthday. They didn't respond/promise anything but the delivery was made on the requested date. Very happy with the service.

Great collection. (And of course very complimentary to the other collection). The storage box looks great on the shelf and the books are the proper full size with large lettering so the child can start to read to themselves once they learn to read.

This is a better choice for younger children, like 2 years old. I had purchased the original set, with the Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, etc., which is at a much higher reading level, and more suitable for a 4-year-old. This set is better for a 2-year-old or 3-year-old, as the text is simpler. What I did not understand about Dr. Seuss when I was a child, is that these books are really good at playing different language, grammar, rhyming, etc. games. Each story has a very specific rule that it follows, and it's a good way to teach your child said rules.

Looking to start your Dr. Seuss collection or just want to dive in the past with some great children’s books? This first set is amazing, the cover that holds all of them together is very nice and thick and sturdy. The books themselves are NOT PAPERBACK which I also like as it adds more stability for long term use. I highly recommend as it is very affordable considering how many books you’re getting, I will be getting more sets like this one!
