Will a 10 inch straw will fit in here easily. We are going to use this for an event that we need 10 inch straws for and want to make sure it will work

sorry but a 8" straw is max if you want the lid to close. the 11inches is top to bottom outside measure.

IS THE BODY GLASS OR PLASTIC???

The body is glass. I was very pleased when I got mine, it was just the sort of "soda shop" straw holder I was looking for.
