My 3 year old toddler is obsessed with planets. They're his passion. Wanna know what planet comes after Mercury? He's got the answer. They're his favorite toys too. All day long he will carry around his planets in a basket and line them up in various places. If you're wondering if he's autistic, you are correct. We love it about him. A problem we faced with his planet toys though was the stressballs. What is the problem you might ask? Well, sometimes the intrusive thoughts win and he takes a big bite out of the foam ball planets. Imagine Uranus with a gaping hole in it like an apple. So what's a parent to do when they're childs favorite toy also becomes their favorite chew toy? Think outside the box. So I purchased this nail polish to cover the planets as a bite deterrent. It took many coats of polish for many hours but it worked! The taste is horrible (I taste tested it too) and on his first bite attempt he immediately pulled back and hasn't attempted to bite them since. It's been a week, but so far these planets have outlasted any others and thinking outside the box worked. Only downside was while painting, the smell is very strong and lingers.

I haven’t used it yet, but the clear finish looks great. It’s exactly what I needed for a top coat, and I can’t wait to try it.

Inexpensive, available damn near everywhere, works like a charm. Might need ball bearings if you plan on mixing entire bottles or a dappen dish for small batches.
