Does this product work for car light glare?

The correct answer is: yes, more than likely. The active ingredient is brimonidine tartrate—an alpha 2 receptor agonist. In the 90s Allergan came out with the 0.2% formulation (branded as Alphagan) in the 90s to treat glaucoma by increasing the efficiency of fluid circulation, whereby lowering the eye pressure. This class of medication also temporarily decreases pupil size and constricts blood vessels (hence the red eye relief). At night the pupil dilates to compensate for the low ambient light. This allows more of the glare-causing light from headlights to enter the eye. By decreasing the pupil size, less of this light enters the eye. This is a widely accepted off-label use of brimonidine.

Brimonidine tartrate (0.2% and 0.1%) has been used for decades to reduce eye pressure in glaucoma patients. It has an excellent safety profile, and some studies show it has neuroprotective properties.

To be very conservative, I attached a “possibly” to my “yes,” because all of the studies I have read were at concentration of 0.1% of greater. Lumify’s concentration is 0.025%. This decrease in concentration may reduce the duration and effectiveness of brimonidine for this purpose.

Succinctly put: using Lumify should help to alleviate some nighttime headlight glare, but probably for less than a few hours.

Totally lash friendly.  I wear lashes and this is the BEST eye whitening drop on the market.  It does not contain oil.
