My FAVORITE Light Action Rod! 6'6"
This is by FAR my favorite light action rod. I have four 6'6" and one 5'6". I have pulled in some Monsters this year on the 6'6" rod along with good panfish on down to tiny panfish while still feeling every strike. If you looked at this picture you can see a 15" drum that was a crazy fight. Pulled her in like a champ! You also can see the rod at the bottom of the photo. This this is great!

Quality rod
I got the 7' rod, paired it with a Picifun carbon x 2, 8 lbs 8 strand braid with 6 lbs flora liter. I backpack river banks for catfish with 2 telescopic rods on my pack and the micro in my hand. I used the rod for a few months before I wrote the review. It takes the abuse of the occasional snag on low branches and bumps into trees as well as being tossed into the back of my Jeep. This rod is light weight, very durable, extremely sensitive to bites, and astectitc. I've caught many pan fish that I use as bait for the catfish, and during the wait for the cats I fish the area with the micro. I've caught large bass up to 17 inch, crappie and even a few small blue cats (4-7lbs). I am the type who likes quality gear and this rod will not disappoint. I read many reviews on rods and I would say that it seems no matter how expensive the rod you always get reviews that say the rod snapped on the first use. For myself this rod has been top quality. My only criticism is that the top guide is on the small side, even with a proper FG you'll lose some distance on your cast. Casting straight braid you'll get the "country mile". Hope this review helps. Good fishing.

Fragile Broke After a Few Use
I use to have an old Shakespeare microspin ultra light that broke so I replaced it with this MCRSP702UL ultralight one. Supposedly they are both ultralight but this one is very thin. The tip rod diameter is almost less than 1/8โ in diameter thickness. I had a 6lb line with a 1/4โ oz sinker at the end which was within the limit of the rod. The tip broke off leaving me with about 6โ6โ of rod length. A little disappointed but I continued to use it. The next outing, when I casted my weight and jig, the whole body snapped. It was outside my 30day window with amazon so I had to contact Shakespeare for a warranty claim. They didnโt have the ultralight but they will be sending me out a Light version at the cost of $9.95 S/H fee. Iโm a little disappointed at how fragile this rod was. I hope the light version is more durable but I wasnโt impressed. $30 dollars down the drain, I figure I couldnโt have gotten a new Ozark Trail set that would have had more life. Will not buy another one again.

Nice little rod for rivers and streams
Bought 2 of these to keep in the truck for spontaneous fishing opportunities. I really like how easy you can cast with them. For the price I don't think you can get anything better. Very happy with them.

Love it
Love this ultralight and it is my main truck rod. Paired with a 500 size spinning reel, 4lb mono, and the correct lures or softbaits it will cast well. I even unexpectedly landed a 4.5 lb pike with the same setup. Great ul rod for the price.
