Stone Smoking Tips Ceramic Rolling Tip Filter

I've been using Stone Tips for a number of years and have all shapes and sizes. The main complaint is that they are ceramic, which is outweighed by the awesome fact that they are also ceramic... Generally I love these things! The weight, size (Big & small), they get cold to the touch while smoking, easy to clean and the weight. I hate that they break when dropped though.

These are decent crutches. Clean easily with some isopropyl alcohol. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they have no way of preventing debris from getting sucked through. Other crutches have indentations for protection against that. If you are dealing with lightly ground leaf, you will have no problem, but if you like your leaf finely ground as I do, you will be spitting out chunks of something as you smoke.

The tips work great. You'll save money not having to buy paper tips to use once and throw away. Easy to clean with a soak in alcohol.

The product description has a confusing claim: "Ceramic has *low* thermal conductivity, meaning less heat is transferred to the smoker." The fact is, most ceramics are chosen for their low thermal conductivity in order to *not* retain heat within the material containing ceramic, meaning these tips would allow most of the heat in the smoke to pass by, and *not* promote absorption by the ceramic materials.

They are too small for 90% of pre rolls so was unable to use them at all

Great product...never had used a crutch before in 50+ years of rolling. Life changing.....maybe not, but it cools the smoke, making it less harsh. Highly recommended.

I roll a cigarette paper around a section of 5/16 inch brass tubing then slide off the paper tube enough to slide in the crutch. To keep it from falling out during the process I wet the paper at the tip, roll it in my fingers and heat it with a lighter to dry and make it stick. The tobacco goes in the other end of the brass tubing using a chunk of chopstick to push it in. Takes some practice but it's simple, like making a sausage...and the weight of the crutch let's you stand it on end so it burns out without snuffing it in the ashtray.
