Useful Tool
Just back from 2 weeks in Thailand and this book was an invaluable tool for a firt time lone traveller there. I would have missed so much if I hadn't done my analysis with this book first. The sections on Bangkok are great plus there is a separate pull out map which was never out of my hand. Tips on which Skytrain station to get off for canal rides into the City were spot on and better than most locals' knowledge.Advice on other areas such as Pattaya [don't both] were correct, but I still had to go there just to check myself. On other areas of Thailand the book is equally as good. Getting to Chaing Mai by plane from Dong M? airport with various providers again spot on, as was advice on 3 day jungle treks [what do you do at night, and what if you don't like your travel companions?] all good advice. I opted for a day trip, much better.Only criticism, the prices quoted for goods and services are way too low!!! If you are budgeting do NOT rely on the prices shown as inflation has defiitely hit everything from food to air travel and accommodation cost.

A MOST buy
I have just returned from travelling SEA for 8 weeks.. And used this book as my bible.. It was a great guide with lots of useful advice.. I would recommend reading the section on con artists before going as they are all still 100% relevant and prevent you from wasting money and being conned.. You'll know what to look for before you get there.. Maps are great and up to date.. The pull out map for Bangkok is especially useful as it is such a large place!!

Great guide on Thailand. Glad that I bought the e-book version
Great guide with lots of maps and tips, although I have always found that the rough guides have more detail. Saying that, this is my 4th lonely planet Thailand guide since 1996. It is easy to find information such as getting there and away and accomodation quickly. Just remember the prices quoted can be a few years old so use them only as a guide. This is the first time I have bought the e-book version which I'm finding a lot easier to carry around. After 20 years of adventure and travel and over hundred countries traveled to, I can now carry a whole libary in my backpack. Fantastic!

Brilliant book :)
I have just returned from my trip to Asia and used this book for 3 weeks in Thailand. The book was great and helped me pick where to go, what to see, places to stay etc. It's the most up to date book so has all the info you need. I also used the internet to so didn't totally rely on this book.

Great Travel Guide
Lonely planet is a favourite travel guide for me. It has up to date guides and ideas for places to see and do whether it be a slow paced beach holiday, a cultural visit or a crazy bar and club scene, this guide has all recommendations. A must buy for anyone travelling to the "Land of smiles"

Essential and invaluable travel companion
This was our bible throughout our trip! Inevitably there were one or two entries that were out of date or inaccurate but all in all it gave us invaluable information on unusually good restaurants, hotels, historical sights, as well as planning advice and suggested routes. Our holiday would not have been the same without it.

Could be better
Has a lot of information, but is a bit desorganized. Specially the Bangkok maps. Was expecting better from a lonely planet book.

As described
The product was as described and was invaluable on our month holiday in Thailand.Only found one of the suggested accommodation to be available (in Bangkok), and it was not as described. Very poor, however it was only £7 each per night!A good book.
