i4 Gen3 WiFi Smart 4-Digital Inputs Controller, No Hub Required

I got this to connect a 110v beam-break sensor (Seco-Larm E-931-S35RRQ) in order to automate the lights (via Home Assistant and Z-Wave) when walking into our TV room with no windows. It has been essentially flawless and responds instantly and reliably. We do on rare occasion find the lights on unexpectedly in that room, but I have every reason to believe that is more an issue with our sensor installation than with the Shelly.

This works great for detecting the change between "open" and "hot". But it doesn't work to detect the change between "on" and "off" when the off has a pull down. For example, connecting to a light bulb to try and sense when the light has 120v applied vs when it's off. Both the on and the off are connected to something and the device sees both the on and the off as connected - the light's filament is connected to neutral. So this triggers the device to see a connection. I solved this by adding a relay. Now the light bulb energize also powers a relay coil and the Shelly senses the relay closing. Works great.

This is just like my other Shelly devices. It works. I use this connected to four switches to control a 3D printer chamber heater through Home Assistant.

Bought this to use it for monitoring the septic alarms (high water, and air pump) plus exactly when and how often the pump turns on, but there is a ghost voltage of only 15v @1.23ma in my panel even when there is no active alarm. (this is apparently normal from the research I have done). We you would think this device would really only care about true 110v-120v inputs as that's what it's designed for! But no, it constantly shows all 3 inputs are ON which is false... There needs to be an option in the software to ignore any voltage below X value. So this is nothing but a paperweight for me. ☹️

These are cool devices. I used them to monitor outputs from my laser cutter from home assistant. I just hooked each of the laser outputs to the inputs on this relay and can now monitor and track runtime, set up automation easily and basically just nerd-out on home assistant. Shelly offers a solid product!

Easy to set up, has email capability, using it as a relay input to broadcast alarm. Does much more that just that. Recommend

BE WARNED! Despite saying that this device is compatible with Google home and matter, it is not capatible with either. I purchased this product to trigger scenes with in my Google eco system. Despite being provided a matter code in the box and doing multiple attempts to pair, I eventually reached out to Shelly directly for assistance and was informed that the device was not compatible with Matter or Google. I like Shelly's products generally and had planned to buy many more for other projects but this experience has left a sour taste.

I used this for a project for Home Assistant to detect fire and smoke from this alarm. It works exactly as expected, super easy with the Shelley App

Love the versatility of this product. Its not just seen on Alexa as an input as you can configure various 'scenes' and there are a lot of options however there is a Maximum amount under the free account of 3 scenes to trigger Alexa so to create an input option which latches on then off I had to use 2 of my 3 scenes up that said the premium upgrade is only around 35euros for the year which comes with lots of added extras.
