Does this fit larger bottles of champagne? The size that's just a little wider at the base than wine bottles?

We buy Cook's Brut (750 mL) and it fits nicely. The bottle measures 11.75" around (or 3.5" diamiter) if that helps. We keep the gel pack in the freezer so it is always ready and it keeps the champagne cold without the melting, dripping ice. No muss no fuss.

What size wine bottle fits?

I bought the regular still wine size which fits all wine bottles EXCEPT Champagne. Champagne bottles are wider than other wine bottles. I would imagine the Champagne cooler would be a bit to large for regular wine bottles.

I don't work for VacuVin, but I'd imagine it's the size/shape... champagne bottles are more squat than a typical wine bottle.

I am not sure on that. I only use 750ml bottles and they are pretty snug.
