Small package is easier to store.
I really like that this came in a smaller package. I only have adolescent chickens right now and not a ton of storage space for their various needs. I'd rather buy a smaller package that fits my space than a 50 lb bag at my local feed store that requires a dedicated spot in my laundry room. Yes, the 50 lb bag would last forever, but it also means it would use that space *forever.* No complaints from my chickens.

Great amendment for certain plants
I use this for my plants that like a high ph as an amendment, or for ones where I want to to add extra calcium for a stronger trunk. Price is amazing. I would highly recommend for plants but do google with AI how much to use for different plants. I use it on my olive tree, fiddle leaf fig, and a little on my snake plant. Olive tree specially benefits because it like a more alkaline soil ph.

Not for small birds
This is great for chickens but not for chicks or quail. The pieces are rock hard and much too big for very small birds. They are too big for my jumbo quail. These quail weigh about 14 ounces on average. They started to eat it and then would not touch it. After 4 weeks I gave up and got them chick grit.

Bag is small.
Bag was a LOT smaller than expected, for the price i expected more. Disappointed. Id say probably the size of a small feed bag for like when they are chicks and you have to buy grit bags. Or size comparison of a gallon ziplock with a half gal added bag. Maybe. My hens did love it though, and i mixed it with my girls’ “super food” mix i make for them. I use this, mealworms or crickets (sometimes both), red chili pepper, a fruit or veggie, a tiny bit of grit, layer feed. Their eggs are so big they resemble emu eggs. Lol and are very tasty.

Good product
Very good price. Package well and I received it immediately without problem. My hens aren’t eating it right now. Has anyone tried adding it to their water source???

Birds seem to eat it
Normally I use the normal size oyster shells for my birds, but lately been getting some soft shell eggs. So I thought I give this a try. Birds seem to be eating it or least it’s disappointing from their container! Time will tail if the egg shells get harder again? But I have high hopes
