If you have multiple Tapo devices, this is a very good addition. It connects with all the tapo devices and then you can set various automations. For example, I have set an automation in which any of my tapo terrace camera detects human or sensor detects that a door is open, the tapo hub will start an alarm, the tapo led strip will turn on with red color and I will receive a notification of an intruder from the tapo app. The only con is the max volume of the hub. It would have been better if it was more loud.

Since most Tapo CCTV cameras save playback videos to their own internal storage, this hub becomes an essential addition if you have multiple Tapo cameras. It works like an NVR, automatically storing all footage in one place on a microSD card. This means your recordings remain safe and accessible even if one of your cameras gets stolen, offering extra security and convenience for managing all your video footage. I noticed many reviews mentioning that the feature doesn’t work with Tapo cameras, but after updating both the camera and hub firmware, I was able to successfully pair it with my Tapo C320 cameras. You can also configure it to trigger alarms when motion or a person is detected, either during the day or at night.

I recently purchased the TP-Link Tapo H200 Smart Hub alongside the Tapo T110 sensor to enhance my home security system. While the hub integrates well with Tapo devices and offers reliable performance, there are a couple of design aspects that could be improved. Pros: Seamless Integration: The hub connects effortlessly with Tapo sensors and cameras, allowing for centralized control via the Tapo app. Local Storage: Supports microSD cards up to 512GB, enabling local storage of video footage. Multiple Ringtones: Offers 19 built-in ringtones with adjustable volume settings, providing customization for different scenarios . Cons: Mandatory Purchase: The hub is required for certain Tapo devices to function, adding to the overall cost. Low Alarm Volume: Even at maximum volume, the alarm isn't as loud as expected for security purposes . No Wall-Mount Option: The hub lacks built-in provisions for wall mounting, limiting placement options. Overall, the Tapo H200 Smart Hub performs its intended functions well but could benefit from louder alarm capabilities and more flexible installation options.
