Review: Must read if you love thrillers! - This is my first Gillian Flynn novel and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I have read a lot of mystery novels before this one and though that none of the contemporary authors have it in them to match a Conan Doyle or Agatha Christie. But I seriously think Gilliam Flynn can be the Agatha Christie of this generation. This story doesn't have a mainstream detective but it's like a story which unfolds in three angles, in perspective of three characters and I enjoyed every bit of it. The ending is very different and what better than having a different end when you are a lover of thrillers. Kudos to the author and ger writing. Looking forward to more from her. Review: WHO KILLED THE DAYS? - Libby Day was just seven years old when her mother, Patty Day, and two sisters, Michelle and Debby Day were killed. Libby Day accuses her brother Ben Day, a fifteen year old Satan worshipper, as the boy who butchered her family. 24 years later, she starts asking questions about the night of the massacre. As the story unravels, she realises that everyone in the family had something to hide that day and finds out who murdered her family. Dark Places is a book that will keep you intrigued. Halfway through the book, I guessed who the killer could be, but did not imagine the night would go down the way it did, haunting and bloody. Dark and messy. A must read for mystery lovers.

Interesting but...
The story is nice and sad. Well written. However, some stuff could have been easily edited out and it would not have changed the story one bit. The story is very small but made into a 421 page long novel. I could have edited this to 350.

Slow start, but ends well
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 I was going to rate this book 3 (2.5 rounded up to 3), and I was going to DNF this, but the premise was so good that it didn't feel like leaving this one. The book does drag in the middle, for a significant amount of time, no less. But, once it picks up, it really goes all fire. However, I must say this is my least favorite of Flynn's writing.

Chilling mystery surrounding a mass murder
A violent series of murders of a farming family in Kansas and the re-examination two decades later by the only survivor into the likely truth of what really happened. Gripping mystery tale by the author of Gone Girl, also made into a recent movie. Fast-paced and well-written.
