Perfect for husband's motorcycle music setup
Got this for my husband so he can listen to music off his phone while on his motorcycle. Works perfectly. He plugs it into his USB-C iPhone and then into his helmet speakers / aux cable and gets clear sound with no buzzing or cutting out. It's genuine Apple so it's small, sturdy, and just works - no extra app or setup. Much better than the cheap adapters we tried that stopped working after a week. If you need to connect a newer phone to wired headphones or a helmet audio system, this is the one to get.

Works Exactly As Expected โ Small, Reliable, and a Must-Have for USB-C Devices
After testing a handful of USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapters from other brands (some cheap, some mid-range), I circled back to Appleโs official one โ and Iโm honestly glad I did. ๐ง Sound Quality The audio quality is noticeably clean. No hissing, static, or interference โ just crisp, full-spectrum sound. I used it with a pair of high-impedance wired headphones (Sennheiser HD 25s) on my MacBook Air and also with Pixel Buds (wired) on my iPad Pro. Everything sounded how it should sound โ no compromises. โ๏ธ Plug-and-Play Reliability Unlike some off-brand adapters that randomly disconnect or stop working after a month, this one just works. Every time. No โdevice not supportedโ errors, no lag when switching between apps, and no need to reboot anything. ๐ผ Build Quality Itโs compact and lightweight, yet doesnโt feel cheap. The cable strain relief is solid (which matters when youโre tossing it into a laptop bag every day), and the USB-C connector is snug but not overly tight โ no wobble or misalignment. โ Who Is This For? This is a must-have for: People who still prefer wired headphones for better sound or zero-latency (especially for gaming or music production). Anyone using newer MacBooks, iPads, or Android devices without headphone jacks. Travelers or remote workers who depend on consistent audio for Zoom/Teams calls. โ Drawbacks Price-wise, itโs more expensive than generic options โ but in my experience, those often fail quickly or have compatibility quirks. If youโre buying this for mission-critical use (like calls, studio work, or just long-term peace of mind), itโs worth paying the Apple tax. My only wish is that Apple would offer a black version to better match dark accessories. Bottom Line: Yes, there are cheaper alternatives โ but if you value reliability and high-quality audio in a tiny, durable package, Appleโs adapter is the one to beat. Itโs not flashy, but itโs built to quietly do its job without drama. โ Highly recommended for anyone using USB-C devices daily who doesnโt want to give up their wired headphones.

Amazing sound quality, no noise
Works amazing for listening to my Sennheiser IE 200s. No noise in the signal. Looks good, works good, simple product. Value can't be much better than this. Stays in my laptop port. Nice white color.

First Apple Product I bought in 12+ years!
I needed a cheap USB dac to drive my headphones after the one that came with my $200 headphones, started to fail. (Was already on my second RMA for it) So I just wanted something cheap that would be equivalent, and I was told: "if you're not going to spend at least $50, the APPLE USB-C dongle is the best option, for only $10!" It sounded too good to be true, but it's actually been pretty nice so far! Worked out of the box on linux! And you can use the built-in DAC or bypass it! (Just don't try to use the 5.1 option) (ID 05ac:110a Apple, Inc. USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter) And the audio quality for both output and mic sounds really good, The maximum volume feels a bit lower than the Logitec usb dac, but still (usually) get's loud enough for me when maxed out. (I checked and this is the USA version, so I'm not volume limited like the UK version) The only really complaint I have is just how flimsy the cable part feels! IT feels even worse than the old ipod cables that show how it would self-destruct after a few months even with light uses. I looked online, and it looks like many people strengthen this with a pen spring or heat-shrink tube, (I did this) I'd argue for the price, I don't think it's a lot of extra work for how much your paying, but again, it feels like an odd design choice, (unless they're trying to manufacture e-waste) But yeah, overall 5/5! I have not tried it on android, (and heard others have had even lower volume issues on that) But it works great on PC!

Excellent For The Price
Works well. Using these to drive some 32ohm headphones on my PC, and this little dongle provides much louder sound than my onboard audio. I'm no expert so maybe this is normal, I dunno, maybe all dongles are 'louder' than the motherboards inline sound, but using headphones with the normal 3.5mm plug, I usually set them to about 70 percent for comfortable listening. With this dongle, I set it to 25 percent. A lot more headroom, certainly. If you're wondering, yes, you can use this just fine with a USB to USB-C converter. I've got one from U-Green I'm using, as my PC has no USB-C ports, and plugged this into it fine, PC immediately recognized what it was and everything. My only complaint, and the only reason I'm not giving it full marks, is the little bit of wire between the two jacks. Maybe this is an Apple thing; I haven't used an Apple product prior to this in 15 years at least, so maybe their stuff is just like this normally, but the wire connecting the USB-C jack and the 3.5mm jack feels VERY cheap. Like, cheap enough I could accidentally snap it if I'm not careful. It feels thin and cheap enough that I'd be afraid to store it in my pocket. Maybe this is purely a tactile issue; maybe it's much tougher than the feel of the cable gives it credit for. If something happens, I'll come back and update this; if not, assume it held up fine and I was just worried about vibes, lol. But hey, even if this thing only lasts a year, for the price, it's still by far the nicest driver of its sort on the market, and it's not close. Next viable competitor is like 4x the price, and the get audio that's noticeably better, I'm told you're looking at like 200 bucks and up... So I'm gonna stick with this little dongle!

Great affordable option
Must have if you donโt want to give up old corded headphones or aux cords. Works on iPhones (16 pro max and 16 that I have). Great affordable option.

Best Apple product since Apple 2
I thought the G4/iPod era was the last time I recommended an Apple product to anyone. Since then, I do still use apple products, but it is hard to recommend for many reasons, from availability to the fact that you can find better and cheaper somewhere else. But these dongles are ease to find, good quality with a price hard to beat. Not only they are difficult to beat, anything up to 50 CAD the benefits are so diminishing you will hardly hear any difference. If you want to do better and notice the difference, we are talking about dedicated DAC/AMP chips. I tested them with low impedance headphones and IEMs, it powered them just as well as my computer, or SoundblasterX G6. With negligible difference for some devices. ***Android phones half volume problem.*** Android (15 or lower) used to have a bug that it would not give enough juice for some DACs, and the Apple dongle was one of them. It was fixed for Android 16, you can check their bug report by searching "USB DAC hardware volume not set". If you are stuck on an older version of Android for some reason (or using Calyxos and Grapheneos on an older phone), check for a open-source project that fixes that for you. Or try one of the Android after market releases like LineageOS or /e/OS that might bring your device to Android 16. The only negative I can think of is that the holds are so smooth, and the connections are so good and thigh. It is difficult to unplug them. It is ok if it is in a stationary computer, but can be annoying with your phone.
