TRG Easy Dye

I love Birkenstocks! But I don’t love the price of replacing them… My most recent pair purchased a year and a half ago, quickly faded in the sun from the beautiful magenta they’d been so I decided I would dye them back to their original colour. I only realised when I started to use the product today that it isn’t supposed to be for suede but as I’d already treated the cork and masking taped the soles, I went ahead and used it anyway. However, it worked really, really well! It was so easy to use, comes in a bottle and the box also contains a double sided sponge to first prepare the surface, and then you sponge on the colour with the other side. It took two coats for me to do these suede sandals and they look amazing. It was very good value for money, and didn’t smell “chemically”. Each coat dried really quickly (it’s a warm day and I did them outside for the best light). The sandals look like new as can be seen from the before and after photos. For a grand total of £23 for the dye and the cork repair, an almost £100 saving on buying a new pair! Would definitely recommend.

I sprayed my couch with a cleaner as a stray cat had come in and left his mark on it and it stunk. The colour was stripped off the couch. I bought a wax polish and another leather dye that didn't work. This dye covered the marks really easily and the colour match is excellent. Really easy to use as it came with a sponge. It is very thin liquid so make sure you protect the areas you don't want covered. A really cheap and effective solution to what could have been a very expensive replacement couch. Very happy with it. Speedy delivery and really good price.

Really easy to use dye for canvas. You have to dilute by 50% when treating canvas. I used a small 1/2 inch brush instead of the sponge.Turned my faded blue Toms into a brand new pair!Will be interested to see how long before they fade but then again I have so much of the bottle left I can just reapply.

See first review below this. (This part is updated after wearing the coloured sneakers outside for an hour a few days after they had been dyed). The dye scratched off in a couple of places whilst putting the sneakers on to wear out, they were fully dried and had 2coats of dye done a few days before l wore them. I noticed that by pushing my foot into the back of my turquoise sneakerboot that the paint had scratched off at the top of the ankle where l pushed my foot in. Once l got home I noticed a couple of other scratches where the paint had come off too so I've had to buy another bottle of dye to fix it, and some leather dye scratch resistant sealant to hopefully seal it so it doesn't keep happening or I've ruined a perfectly good pair of sneakers. So be aware it is great at colouring the item but doesn't stay once you start wearing it. So get a sealant. That's been my experience anyway so I'm removing some stars.First review before wearing the dyed sneakers 👇👇👇👇👇Well this is surprisingly easy to use and fool-proof. I have always wanted a turquoise pair of sneakerboots and have looked for years and had to resort to doing my own. I added bright pink laces too as its beautiful with turquoise. The product went on smooth and easy and dried really fast too, I buffed the soft leather with the scouring side of the sponge first which worried me as it took the shine and softness of the leather away so l knew they would be ruined if the dye didn't work so it was a gamble. But it paid off and the dye applied really well. It only needed one coat to look even but being a perfectionist l went over them twice to catch any missed or lighter bits. I would definitely recommend this product. I'm buying deep purple and magenta too so l can do more sneakers how l want them! I'm really pleased. I also bought the magenta pink and did another pair of sneaker high tops which are also pictured.

Purchased to dye a pair of canvas shoes. The canvas had become faded and also had picked up a few stains that would not clean. To dye canvas the product needs to be diluted 50/50 with water and I applied it with a small brush, as the supplied sponge would have been too inaccurate for working around the details. To my surprise a single coat has successfully dyed the shoes and covered the stains. Very pleased.

The red shoe dye was wonderful! It was easy to use and has transformed my scuffed shoes to bright, new shoes! I hope the dye stays on if I walk in the rain. Not tried that yet. Otherwise, very happy!

This product is amazing on canvas shoes. I brought a faded pair of Vans back to life! The AI question search on the Amazon product page suggested I might want to dilute the product 50/50 with water when applying to canvas. The recommendation seemed reasonable, so I gave it a try. I used a thin art paintbrush that was about a quarter inch wide to apply the product, which was key so I didn’t get die on some areas of the shoes. The product went on easily and died and died very evenly, even though I made little effort to apply it evenly. The product dried quickly, which made it easy to hold the shoe in one hand and apply the product with a brush with the other hand while sitting down. I will admit that it took a while using a small brush, but the results were well worth it!
