I'd been using Softcups (rebranded to Softdiscs) disposable discs as an alternative material option off and on for years, but they had enough flaws that I wasn't comfortable using them consistently and most period underwear can't keep up with my heavy flow (those that do get a bit uncomfortable after a full day of working and period-ing)...So when I first started seeing reusable discs, I was completely on board. I've tried at least four brands and can say that for me Pixie is BY FAR the most comfortable to wear, easiest to insert and remove, and least likely to leak. Getting discs properly inserted is paramount to avoiding leaks or untimely emptying (yes, this has happened to me with other discs, no I couldn't save the pants). Thankfully Pixie's silicone material is stronger than it looks, but is still soft enough that it's comfortable to wear 99% of the time; there's a great pliability to firmness ratio which means it can "pinch" pretty easily, but won't fold up on itself the second you try to insert it or fly out of your hands across the bathroom or straight into the toilet if you don't have a voice grip. It also "opens" easily once you let go - no having to fight with it to get it into place or do a weird dance standing over the toilet (unless you want to, I guess - you do you). I was worried that the "tail" might irritate my bits (I'm prone to uti's if there's too much -erm- jostling in certain areas) or would snap right off the first time I tried to remove the disc, but so far I have had zero issues. By the time I got this kit I was already kind of an old pro at inserting, removing, and emptying discs in general, but the wipes and lube included do make the process much easier and save me from some of the anxiety caused by having to empty my disc while out/at work. Oh, and in case you're curious (I was, and you're welcome), you probably don't want to use the lube for anything *else*; it dries/absorbs relatively quickly and has a less than pleasant flavor. II did have one instance of leakage, but that was my own learning curve issue of knowing the "feel" of this disc being properly inserted and whether or not the shape was conducive to it self-correcting (it's not, in my case. If it's not placed right, I need to take it out and try again). Side note for those shopping around: My second favorite is the reusable disc by Cora, which that works great, but is an absolute pain to insert and remove without feeling like I need a surgical crew on standby (yes, even with the "convenient" tab you're supposed to be able to grip with a finger). Apparently I have a higher-sitting cervix and shorter fingers than whoever that disc is designed for.

Update: I have found that practicing the scooping method when using the disc works really well. So far it seems to be in place and there have been no leaks. Admittedly, I'm only at the beginning of my cycle so time will tell as I get a bit heavier whether it is in place properly or not. For those that might find the pull string a bit uncomfortable, I found tucking it under the bottom of the disc keeps it out of the way and prevents rubbing but is also then easy to access when you need to pull the cup out. ----------- Original review: I bought these because I was desperate to get away from big towels, especially during the heatwave. I find the idea of these easier and a little less 'invasive' than cups especially as there is no suction holding it in place so you can easily pull it out (my hands get stiff from time to time so I lose movability). I found it easy to put in, however, on the day I used them my cervix decided to shift towards my tail bone and I found, even with the applicator, I couldn't quite get it 'tucked' at the back. So I invested in the pixie cup too. This isn't a fault with the product and I have kept them for the days my cervix behaves itself as I felt it was much easier to put the disc in than the cup, especially with checking if it had opened properly. Pros- Excellent bundle. Having 2 different sizes helps you to find your 'fit'. The sanitising bowl is fantastic. I used it both ways, in the microwave and with boiled water fresh from the kettle. Easy to do either. Having the cleansing gel and wipes means you always know your product is clean before reuse. The travel lube is handy too, so if you do need to empty and reuse your disc whilst out it means you don't need to carry a big pump/bottle around with you. The little canvas bags are colour matched to the colour of the disc which makes it easier to see which size you're grabbing without having to open them all. And they all fit nicely in the black bag for monthly storage. Cons- If your cervix shifts you may find it a bit tricky to get into the right position. It is possible but requires a bit of practice, which is why I'll try again on my next cycle, even if I shift, to see if I can get it to work. ******** Frustratingly, I cannot review the applicator separately so I will do it here. I found this applicator is very good for helping to keep the disc folded during insertion as, due to my hands, I was finding it tricky to keep it folded. Being able to change the end of the 'plunger' part to match the size of the disc is also handy. The only issue I have is the cleaning aspect. Yes, it can be cleaned with water and a suitable cleanser but I find it tricky to rinse inside the applicator, especially if it's been a messy insertion. Having a small brush like item to help with this would make it even better. It is larger than a super plus tampon but I found using lube made using this really easy. Definitely worth the investment if you struggle to keep your disc folded whilst inserting.

This product is huge, too girthy. A tampon is much better and like 5x smaller than this. The base is 2 inches
