"Why did you fry poor Greedo?"
This is one of those figures which will you give you more than your money's worth--a well sculpted, brilliantly constructed, interactive, and absolutely FUN figure for the collection of any Star Wars fan! I own well over one hundred figures, and if I had to direct potential collectors toward affordable, attractive figures, I would direct them to this Star Wars The Black Series Jabba, to The Black Series Luke Skywalker and Wampa 6 Inch figures, and to The Black Series Han Solo and Taun Taun 6 inch figures--all of which are high quality figures, and which feel good to hold in your hands. This Jabba figure is IMPRESSIVE! He is about 11 1/2 inches long, and about 6 inches in height, so he really is bigger than any of the other 6 inch figures I own. I have taken a photograph of Jabba beside 6 inch Greedo, 3.75 inch Leia in Boushh disguise, and Wampa 6 inch (actually 8 inches) figures--all The Black Series--to give you a visual idea of how big Jabba is. Should I buy a birthday gift for a fellow fan, this will be the figure I'll go to first. Not only is this a fun figure to decorate your home with, but he is a great puppet to play with, not to mention inexpensive. Moving his arms up and down opens and closes his mouth--I've already made a personal video of him speaking huttese ("Koonyah mahlyass koong! Ees too rongtah oong Jedi Mind trick!") The detail of his body (down to his very cool tattoo), the color of his eyes and tongue--too many pluses to this figure to keep gushing on. BUY IT! I give this figure a 10 Star Review!

An imposing Jabba
This is Jabba the Hutt from the Black Series 6" line, as seen in the Return of the Jedi. This figure is way cooler than I thought, very nicely sculpted and articulated. A must-need accessory to make Slave Leia look better. Or is it Leia who would make Jabba look average? I don't think so. This figure is sculpted on a rubber-plastic skin with solid plastic only for the arms. Indeed, the sculpt is impressive. There are folds and creases all over this big slug. The texture on the chest and back are grainy. The figure has the right hand open and the left hand close as for holding a pipe (not included). It even includes an etched tattoo on its right forearm. To top all that, the figure have a good paint job. It is painted on a matte green on the back and arms while the front is painted on an a faded tan color. A dirt wash is applied around the bottom of the figure. The eyes are detailed just like in the movie, but not glossy. The inside of the mouth is painted brown and there are even white spots around the mouth to simulate drool (but not glossy either). The only issue is that the paint in the right eye is shifted down about two millimeters, but only noticeable on close inspection. The articulation on this figure is simple but perfect for Jabba: - Ratcheted ball-hinged shoulders, - ball-hinged elbows and wrist. - swivel torso, - articulated mouth. I was expecting Jabba to have an articulated mouth, but the end result works great. You pull either arm down or up to make the jaw move correspondingly. The upper torso is full rubber-plastic so even as the mouth is articulated, the articulation doesn't show. Posing the shoulders is not problem as the mouth only open so far until the ratchet shoulders yield a notch. This version doesn't include the extras from SDCC 2014, but it is a good figure for the price. A must have for Return of the Jedi fans.

Not bad at full-price, but AWESOME on sale!!!
For the full normal retail price of $40, you really scratch your head at whether it's really a great deal for this ugly fella', especially considering he doesn't come with any additional pieces, accessories or lizard-monkeys. But at less than half-price, he feels like a solid purchase. Very well detailed, and while the scale is odd for us older "traditional" Star Wars collectors used to the 3 & 3/4" scale stuff, it's a nice sub-collection so far. Would prefer if they focused first on maybe doing 6" modern versions of the original Kenner lineup before venturing into prequel characters, but either way, a nice in-between sub-set.

Jabba is Awesome!
I am immensely impressed with Jabba. He looks amazing! All the way from the sculpt, the articulation( it is limited but what were they really going to do?), and the paint is amazing! His stomach and tail are a hollow, more pliable plastic. And his upper head is a softer rubber to enable his mouth to be moved. His arms have surprisingly decent articulation and are what activates his mouth moving action. Overall excellent figure and a must have for any star wars collector.

Good figure overall, but hollow
I'm a big fan of the Hasbro Black Series action figures, specifically because they have the most articulation yet, but I was slightly disappointed in this figure. The arms are articulated at the shoulders, elbows, and wrists, but aside from those, the figure doesn't move. I was hoping that he could rotate at the torso, but he doesn't. Unlike previous Hasbro Jabbas, this one has a hollow body. Pulling down his arms moves his mouth, which is pretty fun. The painting and details are nice, especially the pores on the underside of his tail, which add to the sliminess of Jabba's persona. Overall, I like the figure, and for $20 it's a deal, especially since currently the 3.75 figures go for $10 anymore. The packaging also looked good, with just a plain black box. I would definitely buy one again, but probably wouldn't pay more than $25 because it is hollow.

Smells and has some kind of oily residue
Too expensive at $160! Seems old and smells awful.

Great Jabba figure.
Got this for my son for Christmas. The figure is well made heavy duty plastic and quite large. The plastic is pliable to some degree. The mouth moves up and down when you press either arm up or down. The detailing is great with nice colors. It is strong and has held up well to general abuse that can be expected from a 7 year old boy. Great buy for the cost.
