Insta360 GO 3S 128GB - 4K Vlogging Camera, Tiny & Portable

I have bought every incarnation of the GO series cameras and have seen improvements with every release. Although not a new release, more of an update, I still wanted to try this version, not least because I didn't have a black GO series camera yet!First improvement that I noticed was the taper of the lens cover ring, along with adding a texture - this makes it a whole lot easier removing the camera from the Action Pod as you grip this and pull it out.As far as shooting goes, the increased resolution and bitrate make a huge difference! I absolutely love the lack of distorion you get with the new Megaview FOV - add that to the amazing flowstate stabilisation and I can get some great unique footage of my dogs using the Fetch Stick accessory (see video).Having recently taken up paddleboarding, the increase of waterproofness from 5m to 10m will be a reassurance - it is not always the depth of the water but also the impact when you fall!I have still to try the gesture controls and the new slow motion frame rates but they are next on my To Do list. For now I am too busy mounting this sweet little camera in positions where other cameras can't be mounted and getting some amazing footage!

Important Note: you will need access to a smartphone to unlock and register this camera for the first time. After that it unlocks with its own PIN, and you can just drag and drop firmware updates directly into the root folder via usb if you dislike faffing about with apps.The Insta360 Go 3S is a fun stunt camera for shortform content creation.It does many other things too, but if your focus isn't plotting your next shortform content stunt, other cameras probably do all that just as well or better.Maximum film clip length is 30mins at any configuration, yet you won't make it fully there in 4K using the thumbcam. It can comfortably store six 30min clips of 2.7K 25fps film footage, and I got it to take 62 time lapsed photos two minutes apart before the main unit battery drained, so call it 2 hours of time lapse unplugged.The big selling point is the amazingly lightweight detachable thumbcam, and it lives up to its hype. This little magnetic thing can be secured where most cameras cannot. Clever action modes allow for specific shakeycam correction and suddenly you're getting the kinetic fast motion footage you've always wanted to capture. The thumbcam can film underwater, too, which is awesome. I nervously tested it at about 2m depth, and yes indeed!The thumbcam is also the limitation of the device. Detatched, it gobbles up energy from the battery, heating up as it does so, sometimes to the point of shutdown. This isn't an issue for shortform clips, as it comfortably manages ~15mins at even the mosy demanding 4K 50fps settings with all the anti-blur and tilt correction on. Once drained, pop it back into the main unit and it recharges fully in about 40mins. So you can confidently plan to capture one stunt every hour in glorious full detail.The point perhaps to stress is that the the Insta360 Go 3S is a one-take go-for-glory action camera, rather than keep-it-rolling then-choose-the-best-edit kind of thing. In this, I can't think of a device that compares, let alone at the price point.

Does what it says on the tin. I use it mostly for POV cheat mounted videos. But the screen was picture taking is pure fun. Nothing serious. Just stick and shoot.

I use this a lot, almost any time I have a big trip out of the house. I love recording simple daily visual diaries for myself with the mini camera or setting it up in the car to record time lapses of the road. The options for how you can use this camera are genuinely limitless.The camera itself is great! Sure there are some higher definition cameras out there but none that can do as much as this. Strap it to your shirt for a hands free recording of your day or maybe set it up for a star lapse of the night!I like strapping the mini camera to my backpack with the clip and keeping the camera device in my pocket and clicking photos when I see something, no need to whip out the phone or set anything up, just press the top button of the camera in your pocket while the detatchable camera itself is set up. It’s so easy to use and there’s so many ways to use it.During regular videos the stability is genuinely mind boggling, even while running around and tripping on curbs the video itself comes out so smooth.My only issue is the battery life, sadly with electronic devices they have electronic limits, but the only limit I have experienced with this is the battery time. You can keep it outside with star lapse mode all night if you keep it hooked up to power but on its own, using just the mini camera it will die pretty quickly while recording with good quality. I recommend bringing a battery pack or two if you go out with the intention of using the camera a lot, also give it time to cool off while it’s charging or after since it can get pretty warm.While this isn’t the camera itself I must leave a bonus shoutout to the insta360 editing app. Extremely easy to use and extremely easy to get used to.Sadly you can only include one video, otherwise I’d have hundreds included. The photos are clear and nice. While some have the logo you can save the images and videos to your phone without the watermark if that is a concern of yours, I just included them in some photos for the proof of genuineness.

Cool little camera with limited recording options and lousy battery time. But at keast thanks to its size you can mount it basically anywhere. 200 pounds too expensive.

So I'm going to Bali next week and really didn't want to carry a big heavy camera around. Saw some reviews saying this one is good so I ordered it. When it showed up I was like wow – it's literally smaller than my AirPods case. 😂 It's waterproof to 10m which is nice cause I wanna take it snorkeling.The video quality actually surprised me. 4K looks sharp and the magnetic pendant thing is no joke. Best part is the battery base. The camera by itself only lasts like 37 min which is kinda short, but with the base it goes up to 76 min. That's plenty for a day out.Downsides： no SD card slot. So make sure you get the 128GB version. I almost got the smaller one but glad I didn't. Also the viewfinder lens sticks out a bit. I'm scared it'll scratch so I put a cheap screen protector on it. And if you're new to these cameras, the initial setup with the app is a pain. Took me like 15 min to get it connected. Kept failing for some reason. But after that it's been fine.Overall I'd say get it if you want something super small but still takes good video. Just be patient with the app setup lol.

AVOID !!! YOU WILL LOOSE THIS DEVICE AND THE MOUNTS SUPPLIED ARE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE !!!!!They don't care as they just sell more....hoping you will loose the camera. They don't care !!!

Update: the camera has now been returned. In addition to the below shortcomings it lasts around 30 mins on 4k when the little one is on. Might last longer with the bigger camera but no attachment included for it is bike friendly. Also if I wanted poorer quality shooting for the same battery life I would have bought a cheaper camera. The 2h advertised are misleading. Also no sd card for the price or the opportunity to download the footage without connection to a WiFi is another thing that is a bit weird. All in all really not worth the money if you are a cyclist who cycles more than 30 mins and wants other mounts than the pendant.Ok camera but the add ons are not really for cycling except the pendant that is magnetic. I fail to see how the Pivot Stand, 1x Easy Clip, 1× Pivot Clip can be used for cycling. There are no helmet clips or handle bar. What a waste of money

*** Revised Review ***My initial review is below. Read before my revised review.Disclaimer: I have taken the time to update my review after using the insta360 go 3s with a battery pack. This means purchasing an additional accessory is required.As outlined on my initial review, the device on its own has a few flaws that was disappointing.... However after using the 3s battery pack, I find it solves some of the big issues. I would highly recommend purchasing the battery pack alongside this product to get the best experience.Pro1) The battery pack doubles the battery life outside the action pod making it approximately 1 hour continuous recording which opens up more potential for a single charge. The battery pack can serve as another battery so very useful to have.2) I did not notice the heat as much with the battery pack attached compared to without one. I believe it is because the heat is emitted further away from the backing. I feel the magnetic connection to the pendant is stronger with the battery pack (look at Con #1 for some details)New Cons1) While the camera is attached to the battery pack, it loses the ability to attach to magnetic surfaces. HOWEVER you can still attach to the pendant so it is not the biggest con. With proper battery management, you should be able to get shots that requires magnetic attachment on surfaces and then recharge via the battery pack or action pod separately. If that is not enough, getting other accessories like a tripod would probably be required.2) the battery pack only comes in white colour so it does not fit my all black aesthetics but a small price to pay for the additional battery. I would like to see a black option become available in the future.Revised Overall ReviewThe camera on its own still has its flaws but considering insta360 is trying to offer a new type of product it has a lot of potential. I can see with the attachments what it can be which is very promising... I'm sure one can argue why not build in the features but then it will lose its identity and will not create the new category this camera can be. Battery life sucks... Camera/action pod overheats like crazy... Image quality isn't the best... With all that being this camera has a lot of potential... The hat clip and the magnetic necklace gives lots of new perspective and you can hardly feel it attached to your shirt/hat. This is not a cheap buy but it is a new category product that I hope to see improvements (especially battery life) in the future. Bought this for the purpose of my Japan trip and i'm expecting to use this while walking around to capture random moments that i might not pull out my camera/phone for. Hoping this will add different perspective to my vacation photos.Pro- Size. Can barely notice it is hanging on your shirt/hat- built in magnet backing (very strong) can stick on magnetic surfacesCon- Short battery life- Overheats- quality is averageI hope in the future the battery life can last more than 30 minutes of continuous recording (outside the action pod) and have a way to reduce the amount of heat generated. I understand the small form factor makes this nearly impossible but that would be the only way to upgrade from this version. I will be keeping this because i think i can still use this regularly.

Cette petite caméra 4K est un véritable bijou de créativité et de discrétion.Le design rétro très sympa. Le Retro Viewfinder transforme cette minuscule caméra (39 g seulement) en un objet vintage ultra stylé, avec un viseur miroir qui rappelle les anciens appareils photo argentiques. C’est parfait pour la street photography ou les vlogs authentiques. Le coloris blanc est élégant et se fond discrètement partout.Côté performances, la GO 3S filme en 4K à 30 ips avec une excellente stabilisation.Les images sont nettes, les couleurs vives et le rendu comme un film avec les filtres rétros est vraiment immersif. En mode POV mains-libres, elle est aussi super top: aimantée sur un vêtement, un casque,en action ou promenade , elle capture des plans dynamiques sans effort. L’autonomie est boostée grâce à la batterie supplémentaire, atteignant facilement plus d’une heure en usage réel.Le stockage de 128 Go est très confortable pour des sessions longues. L’application reste intuitive pour le montage rapide, avec des templates créatifs qui subliment les rushes.Petit point noir: le viseur rétro n’a pas d’écran, donc on compose « à l’ancienne », et en basse lumière la qualité baisse un peu (normal pour une si petite optique).
