Got this item 2 days after ordering it. I bought the genuine Zippo lighter fluid to use in it. I’ve used many gel hand warmers before. I found they started to cool down after about 10 mins. Then you had to boil them to reset them.........This item is far far better. Firstly it lasts for hours and if anything it gets hotter as time goes by. Secondly, a simple refill and it’s good to go again. The description states you can’t put it out but if you starve it of oxygen it will go out in a matter of minutes. Simply put it in a plastic bag and it’s out. Top item for anyone who is subject to low temperatures. Highly recommended.

Bought this for my fisherman father, he has bad arthritis in his hands & keeping them warm is important. The hand warmer looks great & is a solid build too, it takes a while to warm up (approx 30mins) but when it does it can really kick off some heat. I’d recommend this hand warmer 100% as it does exactly what it says it does. My only gripe & this probably comes down to user error, is how much to lighter fluid to use, it’s difficult to know whether you’ve over/under filled, which can lead to the burner either not lasting/staying warm for your allotted time or like us burning for 20 hours & burning through the wick in one use haha. Overall minus the user error it’s extremely good though.

They did their job in keeping my hands warm only thing I don't like about them is the fact that they smell.All you can smell is the zippo lighter fluid and it was bad. Other than that I got great long lasting heat.I went for the 12 hour ones and put enough fluid in the handy filler bottle for 8 hours but if I filled the bottle I reckon you'd get the full 12 hours.

Delivery and service A1 as usual and the product is what u'd expect from Zippo. Hard wearing, work's well, consistently, And will be a lifesaver on really Cold Day's before you can get to a fire or are standing around for any length of time. Highly Recommended...

Having just recovered from quadruple heart bypass surgery I found that the blood thinning medication meant that my fingers were constantly cold. This gadget is ideal, I sometimes don't put the cover on and it's almost too hot. The first time of using it didn't last 12 hours but this was explained in the instructions, since then 12 hours every time.

Very hard to light and doesn’t last more than 3 hours. You then need to wait until it cools before you can add more fuel and start the whole fun process all over again

Oh dear, Zippo you have really let yourself down!I've seen earlier reviews and videos of the 12 hour Zippo hand warmer about the lid falling off, and how it is just fairly warm but nothing special, this model is the newer type with the flat bottom which is great for standing up immediately after filling. So I thought they must have improved it over the years and I ordered a 12 hour Zippo hand warmer. I didn't want a painted finish so I went with the high polished chrome which does pick up sticky fingerprints and smudges very easily but they're easily wiped off and is not a problem. Fine scratches will soon be visible but this is just age related patina, a bit like owning a chrome Zippo lighter.I have a 6 hour Zippo hand warmer and a Whitby hand warmer and these get toasty hot, sometimes a little too hot for the pocket!One little trick I have is to use the Whitby burner on the 6 hour Zippo hand warmer as it gives off so much more heat than the Zippo burner.However the Whitby burner will not fit on the 12 hour Zippo hand warmer as the raised part of the hand warmer with the fill port has sloped ends compared to vertical ends of the 6 hour Zippo hand warmer (and the Whitby).Upon receiving the 12-hour Zippo hand warmer I have used it twice, I understand about the initial breaking in period where it does not run as long as it should, but come on, 5 hours on a full load of Zippo lighter fuel? The warmth is gentle, never hot, we are at the end of summer as I'm trying it out so it's going to be of no use in the depths of winter.How can they say that the 12 hour Zippo gives 66% more heat than leading competitors!? Laughable, especially compared to the old Peacock hand warmer.The lid is a really nice tight fit so they have fixed that issue, but I'm returning it and sticking to the 6 hour Zippo hand warmer (with the Whitby burner) as it runs hot and lasts for just over 11 hours.Avoid the 12 hour Zippo and go for the 6 hour Zippo (use a Whitby burner) it's smaller and hotter.

I have several of these. Most work well, but I have one or two that are hard to light, or keep lit- not sure why. I suspect differences in the burner even tho they look identical.
