Cobra AM255

Having acquired these Cobra walkie talkies, i was amazed by just how good they actually are in use. A lot of companies quote distances that are far beyond the actual working distances obtained, but in tests using my Cobra’s they have performed excellently in practice. The only time i’ve experienced any fall out of reception was when i passed down a hill approximately 1 mile from my home and lost direct contact with my wife who was located in one of the bedrooms with the other reciever/ transmitter. So overall these units are rugged strong well built and waterproof plus made to a high standard in construction. Operation is simplicity and the units have a range of optional channels to transmit across, plus they deliver good clear sound with good tonal quality. Now i know Cobra have a highly reputable name for excellent walkie talkies, but these are the first pair i’ve owned by Cobra, and they are sure living up to that reputation of high quality and excellent operation. I’m happy to give my recommendation to anyone looking to purchase a pair of good quality units. These have proved to be a five star purchase ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍

I needed a walkie talkie for occasional use. Mostly domestic but a bit of leisure. Hiking, sailing etc. The bad bit first as that is what most people want to know. Case is a bit plastic and I am not sure how robust. For me not an issue, bt if this was everyday usage and in and out of pockets, bags etc, it may ultimately break. The speaker isnt as loud as I would have liked and the headphone jack is smaller than the standard. HOWEVER, they work immediately, easy to use and set up and the range is astonishing. I really wanted something that would do a couple of hundred metres but on a test in a fairly hilly bordering on mountainous area we kept comms from inside a substantial stone built house to more than 2 miles away along a valley and behind a knoll. in line of sight from the same house to me up a mountain side, we got 3 miles of clear transmission. Suspect to get further, you'd need to go to licenced more powerful kit. Summary: For domestic and leisure usage, brilliant. For regular work, may be a little soft

Easy to use good range even with no line of sight. Good quality with plenty of functions some I will probably never use. Got some very good rubber seals and good quality contructiin as it is definitely waterproof. Good sound level very clear even at range.

The radios worked well in terms of transmitting and receiving. Very clear. Fault is that memory locations can not be recalled as per the instruction manual. Replacement set on the way. See how they do but not confident and actively looking for an alternative.

Great range, nice and clear, the privacy settings work really well so no interruptions and they float which is important as we use them when boating. Very pleased. This is actually our second set. One handset on our first set stopped transmitting but it was about five years old and had been dropped a good few times. We were happy to replace like for like and now have three handsets which is a bonus

They were perfect, on paper. However... the 'beeping' noises could be turned up to useful levels, but the audio was lower than any walkie-talkie I've ever used before, and certainly not adequate for passenger to passenger comms when touring in convoy. Just not audible against road noise and no chance of the driver hearing or being heard. They were bought to replace Tevion units (1 now damaged) at less than half the price. I'd have to say the cheaper ones looked to be all round better quality too. Very disappointing. Fortunately sending back is easy and painless, thank you Amazon!

Por estas razones, las devolví y compré las Cobra AM1055 FLT. Estas vienen con tres baterías AA de 850 mAh, con las que no se hunden. Además, permiten cargar cualquier acumulador AA, incluso de 2500 mAh (aunque con estos últimos las radios se hundirán, mientras que con acumuladores de 800-850 mAh flotan sin problemas).

Bra räckvidd och god kvalité på ljudet. Produkten känns plastig och klämman går lätt sönder. Säkerhetsögla saknas på själva produkten. Det är walkie-talkien som jag vill säkra i en säkerhetsögla, inte klämman när den går sönder.

Ces talkies sont les seuls (à ma connaissance) qui soient vraiment étanche. On en a eu un qui a passé une semaine dans l'eau et qui a encore fonctionné un an après cette aventure.
