Wow! Am I impressed? My ice machine has been broken for 2 years and I have been buying bagged ice from the store at $2+ a week. What an idiot I was? I was afraid of an expensive repair bill from some appliance company. I did a little research on my refrigerator and came across this as a replacement for my freezer. The item numbers didn't exactly match, but my research said this was the right product... I received it quickly and within a few minutes, had the old one out and this one in. It actually happens to be the same manufacture as the OEM one I took out. Had the same company sticker as the OEM. Within a couple of hours, I had ice again. This thing works so great that I have too much ice now. Works perfectly and was very easy to install. Such a simple solution to what I thought would be a complex (and expensive) problem. So happy I gave this a try to fix my ice maker. I would highly recommend if your ice machine stops working, fix it yourself with this replacement! I'm glad I did just as I'm sure you will be too!

This works for my freezer very well and was simple to install. I gave it 4 stars because of the ice cubes it makes. Very seldom do full complete cubes come out. For me I don't mind but some might not like that. Otherwise it's good

The old ice maker in our Frigidaire refrigerator (~15 years old) had quit cycling. I could force the cycle manually, but was only successfully getting ice on occasion. Instead of continuing to mess with it, I found this third-party compatible replacement. It was a quarter of the cost of the actual unit. There were no instructions included. It does come with screws and a small mounting bracket, if your freezer uses 3 screws instead of 2. Our model only used 2. Found a YouTube video on how to replace the unit (before purchasing it, so I basically knew what to do). I would recommend finding one, just so you know what your doing. The overall process was easy. The hardest part is the 2 screws needed to remove the old unit are not in the most easy to access location. I found using a screwdriver with a socket adapter made it easier than using a flat head (screws supported either). Once it was unscrewed, there is a single cluster of cables that needs to be unhooked. The new unit plugged in easily and again the hardest part was the screws. It basically hangs on the screws. I was able to insert the screws into the freezer first, then slip the new ice maker over the screw, then tighten. You do need to also make sure the water dispenser from the freezer is completely inserted in the cup at the end, so the water will go in the ice maker and not all over the freezer. The ice maker will not run until the freezer is back up to temperature. About an hour after installing the new unit, we heard the water run. Less than an hour later, we heard the sound of ice being dumped in the tray. Roughly every hour or so, we've continued to hear ice being dumped. So in the short-term, the new ice maker seems to be working flawlessly. Will update review if that changes, but so far it is working great.
