If you already have "At Home with Handmade Books" by the same author (Erin Zamrzla), don't bother with this - I reckon about 75% of the content is pretty much identical. If you don't already have the other one, then this is fine- just don't buy the other one, for the same reason.

As a keen (amateur) artist I found this book quite inspiring, with lots of charming projects from simple notepads to different kinds of stitched bindings. Each project is easy to follow, with clear diagrams and step-by-step instructions. Also there is helpful information on all the necessary items and basic techniques needed to pursue this craft. I had previously seen and admired hand-stitched books, but never thought it would be something I could do - however with the help of this book I now feel ready to try!Reviewed in exchange for a preview Kindle copy.

Astonishing. Precision with ease, the way all instructions should be. Ms Zamrzla has expounded upon an already classroom-ready book and created a superior sequel.

I love this book and can't wait to start creating some journals and other assorted books for different occasions. The illustrations and directions are excellent and so many ideas for binding and book ideas. Great book! Will make many books with these ideas.
