Simple, clear and fun
This is a eReader not a tablet. As such I really enjoy reading books on it.I can easily attach it to my computer and transfer books epub, CBR (if ya want Manga, which I have tried and it looks great). I also borrow books from my local library via Overdrive/Libby and they sync over wifi onto the Kobo. I've had a few Kobos through the years, even before Rakuten bought them.I love the versatility of file support. I've even used it for music jams where I create epubs of lyrics for singers and it scales so well on the screen. Also love that on my smartphone I can sync articles to the Kobo via Pocket and I read them later... nice!I love that this model is water resistant (one less thing to worry about in my bag) and the warm light is clutch for night reading. The resolution is great, and the highest I've ever had in an ereader.I purchased the Kobo case (in orange) and appreciate the kickstand built in and use it at work on a table while eating lunch. Nice design, simple and effective.Grabbed the Kobo Clara BW on sale for about $20 less. While I love ereaders I think they should all be no more than $100. But innovation takes time to be adopted and folks pay the way.

Incredible ereader
This is my first ereader and I made sure to do a lot of research before buying it. This is apparently one of the best, best quality and response as well as perfectly lightweight and a great size. I really love it! It’s crisp and I love the feature to highlight and add notes. And I love the sleep screen being the current book and how much percent read. It’s really a perfect choice if you’re looking for a simple, best for the price and great working ereader. I bought this specifically to read Stephen king books, and unfortunately none of them were on any discounts or sales, each book was about 12-15 dollars each, but if you peruse through the deals section you can find some really great books for like 2$! Like project Hail Mary! Highly recommend

Amazing e-Reader!!! Well worth the cash!!
The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical at first when it came to reading books off an e-reader. I love the feel of having a physical book in hand and turning pages but reading off these books is amazing. The ability to change light settings and brightness is great for reading at night. As you can tell from the video, it’s quick and responsive when it comes to turning pages or going to the menu or switching settings. The weight of the device itself is pretty light. The plastic it is constructed from feels sturdy. At first it felt and looked cheap but I’ve dropped it once from 3ft and it did not get a single scuff. It is waterproof since I’ve taken it into a pool and got zero damage. The screen itself also feels sturdy.Battery life itself has proven to last quite some time. I charge it almost every two weeks and I do heavy reading on it (3-4hrs a day). I did play with the settings a bit on separate occasions, once the battery only lasted barely a week and a half and the other time it went over 2 weeks. The device itself has never overheated and I don’t see why it should.Storage space wise. There is no way I will ever fill up 32gb worth of books. I currently have 8 books loaded up on it and they’re all 5-20mb in size, with another 7 loaded up to be transferred. When it comes to loading books onto the device, you can easily plug it into a computer via the usb-c cable it comes with. Open up the device folder and drag and drop right into it. Once you’ve safely removed the device from the computer, your device will load and it will show your new books. I haven’t bought or tried out anything from the built in store, not sure how it works but looks like you can download an app on your phone, but the books there and then they will download to your device.TLDR: it’s better than a kindle in my opinion. Spend your money on this model and sideload books by drag and drop. Where you get your ebooks is none of my business but there are places where they are free…

Library to Kobo direct
This is an excellent eReader. Contrast is sharp, with good lighting when needed. Note that Libby, the portal used by libraries to loan ebooks, is used by libraries all over the world. However, the Kindle only can be used with Libby in the US. In other words if you have a library card anywhere else in the world, you will not be able to use a Kindle to read your books. I happen to have a UK library card, so I happily read on the Kobo.Great battery life, light and easy to hold, great value for money. I highly recommend this.

Great e-reader with many features
This is just such a great e-reader. The Kobo Clara is a great option for people who care about being able to repair or upgrade their devices and reducing e-waste. It fits nicely in the hand and is a nice solid black. The Clara has a responsive and visually pleasing interface, and it has the ability to read and store all of my books in epub (and many other) formats. It feels nice to hold, not too heavy or too light. Reading on this is far superior to reading on a phone. I couldn't recommend it enough.

If you are deciding to buy this… DO NOT!!
Over the years, I found Kobo, even this entry level unit, to be enough. Coupled with amazing featuring, it has become the best for me. But this new unit?! It’s a trash! A release that doesn’t even necessary from Kobo Clara 2e!! Predecessor was even better so, do not think of buying or getting this. This unit has such bad display and that pin hole dead pixel is something you will never be able to stand given that you used hard-earned money!!Received it poorly too! Amazon not safe guarding it with any protection, and just sending tech devices in a big brown box without any protection!!!This is just so bad I had to return it!!! I hope Kobo and Amazon can get better!!
