I went ahead and buy this pair of tailgate lift support even though Amazon gave me a warning it doesn't fit my 91 RR classic. Turns out my gut feeling worked. The price is blow is the best compared to everyone else.

Perfect replacement. Really powers up that tailgate. Easy to change with just a flat blade screwdriver to pop off the old clips. Support the tailgate. Then just push the new ones on. 5 min change.
