Best IEM's for $99!
What can I say about the Vsonic GR07 Classic? That they are about the best IEM for $99 and likley the best one even in the $299 range. I have tried many IEM's...Sennheiser CX400 II, UE Triple.fi, Westone 2's, Shure SE315, Apple In Ear's, and Etymotic HF3's, and even the sligtly pricer Vsonic GR07 Bass Edition, but I think these Classics are just more of what I am looking for. What am I looking for?On my search, I was looking for an IEM that was fairly accurate, had some low end, but clear and detailed, but not fatiguing, and with a large soundstage. The Sennheiser's have good low end and soundstage, but almost too much low end and not detailed as I would like. The Etymotics, the Shure SE315, and Apple's more expensive In Ear's did not have nearly enough low end, very small or no soundstage, and very fatigueing sound as the high end was bity and harsh. The Apple's were sligtly better, as they are dual driver, but only slightly. The Westone's and the Shure's also had too much mids. The Triple.fi's were nice, but too dependent on the source and had strage interactions in some of the frequencies - I just could not get used to them sinc ethey were not predictible and did not have the soundstage of the Sennheiser's.These GR07 Classics have good low end, but not bloating impact. Just enough to make them warm and plesant. The mids are somewhat recessed, but remain detailed and clear, and the highs are there with a wide soundstage, but not too much to cause fatique. They did take a few days to a week to have better low end and open up and have better clarity and sibilance in the highs, but once they do they are so plesant to listen to. They have better detil and soundstage of many full range headphones. They are comfortable to wear as well. There are not many tips included, but the foam tips included sound quite the best. They give the best low end and high end sound. They also block out the most external sound and I love the over the ear look and feel. The cable is easier to stay out of my way and the headphones stay in my ears - a problem I had with my Sennheisers. Over the ears seem more complicated, but once you get used to them it is hard to go back to other types of headphones. I also play drums and wanted something for stage monitoring as well as hi-fi listening and I think these fit the bill. Some might say the low end is too much on this headphone and it is not detailed enough. I am a believer that you do need a bit more bass when choosing IEM's due to the loss of body and bone vibrations when listening with speakers and the extra boost in the low end helps fill in that gap and make the headphones dissapear more. Compared to the GR07 Bass Edition, the Classics have better low end and a slightly reduced extreme top end. With a more extreme top end, the BE's have a very slight wider soundstage, but only slightly, and at a cost of higher fatigue and a reduction in the low end. I would not call the BE's better, just different. The Classics are somewhat of a trade-off, but if you are looking for more detail and clinical sound, the GR07 BE's are a fine set of headphones.

I bought this product about a month or so ago. I use it every day and I have to say that the sound quality is great. I have to take the train every day to get to work and often times it gets really loud but with these headphones, the sound quality is clear and loud that I can still enjoy listening to my music and podcasts without any worries. These headphones are great for $99 dollars and as good as the higher end products that are in the 200$ range. The only problem I have noticed with my headphone is that the wires are starting to break.

Sounds good til they quickly break!
They sound great, for the few months until both cables to the earpiece shorted out. This happened right where it splits from single cable to two cables for each ear, and the earbuds were stored and transported in the included case. Very dissapointed in the build quality for this price of headphone.

Great sound, good price
These earphones have low distortion and a clean, natural sound. The bass goes deep but is not exaggerated. Extended high frequency response without sounding bright. Smooth natural midrange without the midrange suck-out so many other earbuds and headhpones have. Overall they sound a lot like Etymotics, but with smoother mids and better response at the extreme low and high ends. Sound to please the discerning audiophile, at a great price.

I was not impressed with the quality from my iPhone when I put them in. But when I use them live on stage I could hear every instrument very clear. Great product. I only wish that there is a way to replace the cables if they got bad.

Amazing detail and clarity. These should be $300+
So I'm coming from the Shure s215 earphones which are similarly priced to these. I'm not an audiophile but I want to enjoy my music and have been searching for a great pair of earphones for the past 10 years. The shures lasted me for 6 years and I thought they were really good, but I wanted to try the GR07's due to the great reviews on headfi. The first thing I noticed was how much detail I was getting from these bad boys - the s120 has good detail in the mids and highs but almost completely lacked in terms of base. The GR07's has amazing detail AND the bass is present, punchy but with sharp detail as well. This was before burn-in. I was ready to shell out $500 on a pair of high end earphones before I read the reviews for these, but damn if these aren't the best sounding earphones for the price. If you're deciding between these and the bass edition, although I haven't tried them, the base on the classic version is more than enough unless you're a serous bass head. Get these now, you won't regret it.
