G CLAMP, HEAVY DUTY 6"/150MMM BPSCA E20-6 - TL16180 By ECLIPSE

I bought this after seeing a YouTube video showing how a G clamp can be used during brake changes. Used an old brake pad with it to push the piston back into place before removing the caliper and pads. It worked exactly as needed, solid grip and plenty of force. I bought this for a specific job which required a large g-clamp. When it arrived my first impressions were that it was very impressive - heavy, well made and the coating of paint on it was thick and durable. It looked like it could be worked hard. And that is exactly what I did, I used it to what I sense is it’s maximum clamping force, hand tightening the screw as much as possible before slipping a short pole over the tommy bar to ‘encourage’ it a bit more. It performed perfectly. Held things together with the swivel shoe adjusting a bit to apply an even force. To give a better understanding of the size I took a few photos placing the clamp beside a tape. The first shows the maximum clamping width - 210mm (8.5 inches). The second shows the max depth - 80mm (3 inches). The last is for a bit of scale, I have put it beside 2 inch and 6 inch clamps (my 4 inch having been ‘borrowed’ by a friend quite some time ago). It weighs 1.94 kg (just over 4 lbs). In summary, this is a very strong and well made clamp. It will only be used occasionally but is very likely to outlast me. Finally on price, it was far cheaper on Amazon than in my local chain big box store which claims to always have the lowest prices. Recommended.

These clamps from a decent British company are excellent. You’ll never break these and they will last for years, I also thought they were a reasonable price and far better quality than those from the Far East. Don’t bother with cheap imports if you want decent clamps then these are just the job.

I bought 4 of the 4inch then decided to buy 4 of these 6inch ones, and so happy with them, well made, even though they are not made in sheffield uk any more, but they are far far better overall than others, and super value for money,size is spot on, the strength is good, no silly twisting! Nice smooth finish, and they perform great, very much recommended,

Bought two of these G-clamps to use for woodworking. Very strong and reliable clamps, these come with a bit a weight to them as they are well made. Tightening and loosening them is simple and easy, I would recommend having a small bit of wood between the clamp and what you’re clamping to avoid damaging your work if you over tighten them.

These clamps are stronger than most and follow an original design. However, the thread in the casting is poorly cut. The screw does not align squarely with the anvil at the other end. This matters, because when the clamp is tightened, any misalignment will get worse. I bought six clamps. Two were acceptable and the other four were off by up to 5 mm. I was going to send them back, but instead I used a press to straighten the bad ones. This wasn’t the best thing to do, but it is what I did at the time. These clamps will be so easy to make right. Why make them wrong?

Buen material. Aun siendo fundición negra la calidad de sargento es buena. Está bien mecanizado..La rosca de apriete tiene el diámetro suficiente y gracias a la buena mecanización ,se aprieta y se afloja con facilidad. Evidentemente pesa bastante según el tamaño, pero es lo normal.
