Travelon: Bag Bungee - Black

This strap saved me on a recent trip on my own with my 4-year old daughter. I strapped her carry-on bag on top of my rolling bag to get us through the airport and still have a hand free to roll her in her car seat (we have a cart for her seat and can use it like a stroller through the airport until we gate check it). The best part about it is that when she decides she doesn't want to wear her jacket I can just stuff it under the straps on top of the bag and it's secure but still very handy if she decides she wants it again and I don't have to keep opening to my carry-on to put it in and take it out. It also worked really well for the car seat gate check bag to be stuffed under it until I needed it again at the next gate for our connecting flight. Very easy to use and tucks easily into an outside pocket of my carry-on bag to be easily accessible. It made traveling on my own with a pre-schooler so much easier.

It worked great holding my Christmas purse to my rolling bookbag without the need of a travel sleeve.

I've just returned from a trip and used this for the first time. Although I cannot speak for durability, I will say that this simple bungee was a huge help and very nice addition to my roll-a-board carry on bag. I used to typically balance my tote/handbag on top of the roll-a-board and try to sort of wrap my purse strap around the suitcase handle. Whenever I stopped, I would have to either keep hold of the handles, or switch the purse to my shoulder. I would do so because it wasn't stable to sit on top of the suitcase on its own. For security reasons, even though I would be sitting right next to my suitcase in the gate area, I didn't feel it very safe to just have my purse sitting loosely on top of the suitcase. This bungee attaches very easily with the clip/strap on to the suitcase carry handle. The fact that it stays attached even when you release the other end to remove your tote, means that you don't need two hands to do so. I've seen people use regular bungee cords for this same purpose. Although the end result is similar, when you release the tension to remove the tote, you end up with a loose bungee cord that you need two hands to manage. You may not wish to keep this strap connected to the suitcase when not using, but at least it doesn't fall to the floor when you need to remove your tote. My particular Travelon suitcase happens to have a small zipped pocket at the top front of the suitcase. Handily, I found that I can just unzip this pocket and slip this bungee strap right inside while still keeping the strap clipped to the carry handle. I wouldn't leave it this way if I were to check the suitcase, but for going through security, stowing in the overhead bin, or once in the hotel room, this is handy so I don't misplace the bungee.

I have purchased several of these for myself and as gifts. They keep my carry on bag and my overhead bag securely together and I don't have to carry my carry on all over the airport. The one drawback is that you want to have a carry on with some structure or it will continually fall off of your over head or checked bag. If you put anything slouchy it will fall sideways and you will keep having to adjust it. If I could use a slouchy carry on I would have given this product 5 stars.

Haven't had a chance to use this yet but anticipate using at Christmas time when I will be spending time with family. I can certainly see that it will free up your hands to carry other items. Although it is another item you will need to fit into your carry on luggage. Pros and Cons.
