I gave this book to my teenage sister for her birthday. She is currently in a residential program because she has struggled with serious depression. She loved this book, relates to it heavily and says it has helped her to verbalize her feelings about some things. This book of poems are so vulnerable and honest. I recommend.

I’ve been wanting this book for some time and finally invested into it. So far there’s a much deeper meaning than I originally thought. It’s really good.

This is a good book for those who enjoy hearing words come alive on paper. I recommend this book because not only is the author extremely motivating but, it tackles issues that are relevant in society today, such as abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, bullying and depression, and puts them into an emotionally driven perspective that really resonates with the audience. In addition, I recommend her work because it is written in poetic verse which not only adds to the flow but also creates a very conversational tone to make it seem like the author is talking directly to the reader. Overall, save me an orange is a unique reading experience filled with emotion and inspiration.
