Great illustrations, terrible story
Cute illustrations, I love Liz Climo and her whimsical animal figures. This is a terrible story though. The main character turns out to be pretty mean and inconsiderate. I would not reccommend this as a good children's book.

Three Stars
Book quality is fine, but I didn't really like the story. The elephant is kind of a dick.

Like a good animated film that entertains parents, too
I love all of Jory's books and this one is no different. This book is so much fun to read aloud--so many fun animals to voice and an elephant just tryin' to get some relief! The simple and lovely illustrations add just the right support as it is so much fun to imagine different animal personalities. I laughed out loud for real.

Thanks for another wonderful book
I love Jory Johns's humor! Snails are slimy, a sloth is slow and a porcupine is prickly. I am sure the sloth will save the day in the end, he is a good guy. The art is clever, I could feel relief myself in the elephants cute little smile.

Scratching an itch proves problematic for this pachyderm
I am a big fan of this author. What I liked about this book is that it will give readers and their audiences plenty of things to talk about: how some can help us and others can't (and why), what do we do when we feel frustrated (or itchy) when even those adorable meerkats can't help, and the joy of finally getting the problem solved (but accidentally creating a new one). With his particular brand of kid-tested humor, Jory John takes us along on the journey of the itchy elephant, with opportunities to give each character a unique voice. In addition, the illustrations are simply charming.Plus: Every story should include a sloth.

Disappointed with the Story
Story doesn’t really teach a good message. Character not considerate about others. Not a lesson I would want kids to learn.

Completely disappointed.
Very disappointed. Nothing ‘enlightening’ about this story. Selfish characters that do not get it. Plan to return this book, nothing redeeming. The one helpful animal is tossed aside. Not sure what message they were trying to relay, but I was left shaking my head. What a sad reflection of society.

Terrible story line with rude character
I like the quality of the book and the pictures drawn. Other than that the story is very bad and the elephant is pretty rude and ungrateful at all.I saw this book was selling at £6-8 elsewhere and no way I would be happy to pay this much if I find out this book has the terrible storyline

Good for children
I would recommend this book to other children because it is funny and I like the drawing. But the book is too short.
