Bristan RD ROLL C Round Toilet Roll Holder - Chrome

Definitely a good quality product. It is easy to install and clean.

This replaced an old similar roll holder which had started to tarnish. Upon removing the old one it used a 2-screw fixing (top/bottom). This one has 3 screws (2 top 1 bottom). I re-used the bottom hole, drilled 2 new holes either side of the old top hole, fitted the rawl plugs and voila! A nice new smart looking replacement in less than 5 minutes. I needed to drill into white shiny and very slippery tiles. I used the wrong drill bit type at first - lots of noise, sliding everywhere, and nothing happening. I stuck some masking tape on the tile to stop the slip, switched to a masonry drill bit and job done - a perfect replacement. I'm not sure how those "horizontal bar" holders would fair over time, seeing as they are a kind of lever and uncaring guests yanking downwards like they were ripping carpet might cause strains at the other end over time. With this type the leverage is almost zero and the 3-screw holder should last decades. Maybe I think too much. I was looking at holders 3x the price thinking "they must be better, somehow" but in all honesty once fitted it looks 3x the price and I saved myself money by sticking to "good honest simple stuff". Recommended.

Solid enough hardware but the provided rawl plugs for wall attachment are unusable (far too flimsy) and I had to make a trip to the home improvement store to get replacements.

The product seems good, but I haven't installed it yet. We had some issues with another product, and the company was fantastic to deal with.

The chrome plated Bristan bog-roll holder is simple, effective and strong enough for the purpose. It is easy to mount onto a surface with the grub screw clamping the holder-base to the wall bracket by the wedges in the base. I used three ½” No.6 pan-head twin-zip chipboard screws to fix the bracket to the veneered MDF decor panel beside the bog. Better the two holes live at the top of the bracket to take the weight; the one at the bottom just stops it flapping about. If you want a “left loader” instead of the supplied “right loader” (as with my sample and Az picture), or any other orientation, while keeping the grub screw still out of sight at the bottom of the base, there is a 10mm A/F hex-head bolt that can be slackened to allow the pillar to rotate, 180° for the holder-bar to drape for a left loader. Good solid heavy toilet roll holder and easy to fit. I purchased the towel rail and towel ring to match and they look lovely in my bathroom. Been up for almost a year now and no sign of rust and still as shiny as new.

An old loo roll holder had come off the wall and where we'd drilled through tiles to mount that one, I wasn't too keen on having to drill new holes to replace it. The clever way this attaches to the wall meant it was compatible with the old way and therefore was incredibly easy to fit. Simple idea - very clever n practice. And it looks great and appears very well made.

This is in general a good toilet roll holder (nice finish, solid feel etc) but sadly let down by the excessive play in the bar which means it rattles very loudly when used. It replaced an older holder of a similar design which was fine other than worn finish, but we've now switched to the fixed type where there is no movement at all.
