One very strong magnet.
Very strong magnet. I received the magnet and tested some assorted silver. I was very upset when the magnet was attracted to a 10 oz. ‘supposedly’ .999 pure silver bar, I thought I’d been cheated when I bought the bar. Then I realized that the magnet was attracted by the metal frame of the table I was doing the testing on. It was attracted to the metal frame through a 1 1/4” thick wooden tabletop and 10 ounces of silver. Let me reiterate, a very strong magnet.

Seems to work great
I bought it for my 80-year-old mom she’s in charge of pricing the jewelry at a thrift store. And it was hard for her to tell whether it was sterling silver or gold. She seems to love it.

Great tool
Oh how I wish I had this months ago. This is a great tool. One must trust but verify. This will help, but know some Fake coins now have copper instead of clad.

Good quality and strength
A great every day carry magnet on my keychain. First line of defense when it comes to testing precious metals, but shouldn't be the only way you're testing. I recommend it.

Super strong magnet for testing precious metals
Bought this to test my growing silver supply for authenticity. Definitely attracts ferrous objects very strongly, and silver not at all. Also small and compact; just don't put it in the same pocket as your cell phone!
