This set is great to get into warhammer 40k, or to extend an existing army

Everything was together, fast delivery and cheap. Loved how fast it got here in particular. Had me ready to go for the tournament the following weekend.

This is one of the best Warhammer 40k starter sets I've seen in a long time. For one thing, it's a welcome break from Space Marines, which most Warhammer 40k game boxes feature. Here you get two small armies, Adeptus Mechanicus and Necrons. Some of the figures will be familiar- you get a unit of Skitarii and a Tech-Priest, as well as Necron Lychguard, Immortals, and Canoptek Wraiths. But there's a couple of great new goodies in this box too. There's a new Necron Cryptek (HQ), and two Armiger Warglaives, which are smaller versions of the Imperial Knight.The models in this box aren't simplified at all, like the ones in the earlier edition of Warhammer 40k. They're the exact same thing you would get if you bought each model kit separately, with all the options, so you can assemble either Skitarii vanguard or rangers, or choose between multiple weapon choices for your Lychguard and Immortals.The box also includes assembly instructions for all the models (I found the lychguard instructions here easier to follow than the ones that came with the standalone box set I'd purchased earlier), as well as a set of starter rules, and a 40 page scenario book containing lore and backstory for both armies as well as three battle scenarios to play through. The starter rules are enough to get you playing basic games with the included models, so you don't need to run out and purchase a full rulebook or army codexes right away.

Good value for the money. Larger forces would make it great.
