Works Well If Placed Well
Getting the most important part out of the way, these WILL catch mice, if you deploy them correctly. Now, about the details... First, construction is solid. They are solid sheet steel, and should last you for a great many years. A couple of mine did have one of the lever mechanisms (the part that blocks the mouse from escaping) loose in the trap. However, because of their design, it was relatively trivial to snap them back into place. With that done, the lever mechanism works great. Placement is key for these traps. The trap needs to be placed where mice will walk through. If you know there's a particular path they like to take, place it where they can walk through it. Additionally, I've found it beneficial to scatter a few shell-off sunflower seeds inside as bait. The mice can smell the bait and want to come in to get it. Do NOT use peanut butter for this purpose if you're using the glue trap inserts, the oily peanut butter will render the glue ineffective. The trap itself is slightly larger than I expected, but small compared to the full-size ones, so they can fit in tight spaces if that's what you need. Additionally, the traps are completely safe for pets and kids, there's no poison or snap mechanisms to worry about, and if you use the glue inserts they're safely contained in the traps where your pets/kids can't step on them. Setup is very simple, open the trap and insert the glue trap (and make sure everything is in place properly) then close the trap and place it. That's it. There's a reason why basically every restaurant deploys traps like this, they're simple, effective, safe, and low-maintenance (you don't have to reset the trap for every mouse caught). Well worth the $55-ish dollars I paid (less than ten bucks a trap!). My father was skeptical at first but now that we've caught some he is seeing the value as well.

Ineffective mouse traps
Seems not to have any attractant like instructions state. I put out six of these in traps and caught nothing.

Doesnโt work
Bought these so as not to see caught mice. Had these traps placed in different area were mice were seen had them out for more than a year and not one caught but have caught using snap traps
