Weedy USB can't run optical drive.
The output from the USB 3.0 and 2.0 was not sufficient to power a BluRay drive, even with my MacBook charger plugged into the USB 3.1 type C. Only solid state devices such as memory sticks or cameras will work. So no watching Blurry discs and hope to charge your MacBook at the same time.

Well priced, but no charge-through.
All ports work and the price was good for what it is. Works on a 2016 MacBook Pro, but note that the USB-C port on the adapter does not do charge-through, so you'll have to charge the Mac with the dedicated port directly on the laptop.

Excellent multi-purpose adapter to complement any computer sporting a USB Type-C port
The Kanaan USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter arrived promptly and came in an attractive manufacturer-sealed package, in keeping with expectations for a professional product.The adapter itself is light and compact and the cable which connects it to your computer is a perfect length, in order to allow the adapter to sit flat on a desk.I purchased this adapter to enable me to connect a variety of USB 3.0 devices to the USB 3.1 Type C port on my Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 laptop.I was very happy to find that on connecting a USB flash drive into the USB 3.0 port on the adapter, this was immediately recognised by my laptop. Reading and writing files to and from the laptop proved successful. Also the laptop happily played an mpeg movie file from the flash drive.My next test was to connect the usb cable from my digital camera to my laptop, again using this adapter's USB 3.0 port. I was very pleased to find that the camera was also instantly recognised by my computer and that all my latest photos, were easily and quickly transferred to the storage on my laptop.In summary, this apapter has both met and exceeded all my expectations and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who has a requirement for this type of adapter.

Didn't charge laptop, only powered peripherals
Didn't power Macbook as I expected it to. Would power lightweight stuff plugged into USB but laptop didn't recognise charging feed

This item works, and supports 1920x1200 as suspected but not listed in the description. So for those of you that have "old school" monitors pre-1080p that use this resolution, you're in luck!Works straight out the box on a system running Windows 10, build 1607.
