Harfo HL90 lock died after 8 months
Lock would not engage the dead bolt when fingerprint or RFID card was used. Took the lock apart and found that the two wires that go to the electromagnetic inside the lock had cut in two. These wires lead from the circuit board to the electromagnet inside the lock that engages a pin that then allows the deadbolt to open with the handle. Cannot be repaired as there is no room for a splice. Poor design. The finger print reader will not work in bright or medium outside light. Has to have a dark background to be able to read finger prints. RFID cards work great, however

First of all this is by no means made to be used outdoors. BUT,
Me being me, I take apart most of electronics and inspect everything inside out, bought this with one purpose, use it outdoors. Reviews stating "died after a month, half a year no more working" made me prepare for the surgery and gather all the insulating material, moisture retaining materials while the item was being shipped to me.First feeling upon opening the box were WOW! The packaging is extremely good, and all the accessories are nicely placed. Honestly, the lock and packaging is so presentable that the price is really LOW on this, perhaps due to competition, however, this lock only lacks being "smart" which is exactly what I did NOT want as the bluetooth's MAC can be hacked very easy! Better be aware, then this lock is even more premium "security" if you think about it.Inspecting the box contents and finally handling the actual lock I rated durability 5 stars as; even though it gives office door lock feel, it seems extremely sturdy unlike other toy-like looking digital smart locks and looks good as exterior door lock just as well especially when you use it with Ultraloq UUL-UL3-DCP-SN UTEDCPSN Deadbolt Cover Plate (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NH9LPEE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which is a must btw, if center of the doorlock handle hole is between 5, 5.5, 6 and 6.5" apart from the centre of a deadbolt lock hole. Otherwise your installation will be delayed. Stand alone round deadlock covers wouldnt suffice, be in a way to the upper edge of this unit, give the entire setup a funny look instead. Get this and make it look twice as durable and professional. As I mentioned, lock is by no means made to be used outdoors, if you want proof, see pictures. Circled are the light bleeds from the flashlight I hold directly underneath the lock's entering interface. These bleedings are only around the fingerprint housing edges. Also, fingerprint housing holds a speaker with 7 perforated holes. All this is serious and, you guessed it, provides passage to rainwater, snow, spiders, you name it. Do not use the lock outdoors until you seal it. Luckily, this housing can be taken out completely. Its rather painstaking to put it back along with fingerprint sensor in the right direction, but is worth sealing up prior to mounting. You can seal it from outside but it wont look nowhere near as good as if you do it from inside, especially speaker port, which will mute it by more than 70%, though once you use this outside, you wont hear it regardless, trust me. Plus, it is not needed because the OLED display is informative enough and really, is all you need. Not sure why they even included the speaker.Installation is simple, just like regular lock except you need to pull the wire through the door and with the deadbolt covering plate I mentioned above, took 1 hour tops to get done with. Including latch strike Harfo included as well as spare screws and hex key as well.Amazing deal for a working product. Fingerprint 5 out of 5, RF keycards 5 out of 5 password with actual password protection algorithm to watching bystanders (say password is 1234, you can enter 4 random digits before or after the actual code, iE: 88311234 or 91281234 itll work all the time! 5 out of 5! Physical key, 4 out of 5. Door handle is always lose, both inside and outside, inside however opens the door at any time. Outside will open the door only once the authentication is successful. Ease of not getting the key, aiming it at the keyhole and twisting it then pulling the key out, all while having full hands, this is so much easier, fingerprint reads as fast as half second and unlocks the door in another half. Super convenient. Elegant and sturdy at the same time. Worth the investment, especially when I paid more than half the price of this lock for a regular European handle lock in the lower category, from which deadbolt hole seized up and did let the key only half way in after not even a year of constant use, had to use side door, not having the key to the side door, I would end up in the streets or would have to break in to my own house!Get this but only with modding skills if you want to use it as an exterior lock. Oh! I forgot to mention, just for the peace of mind, I placed silica gel baggie on the keypad logic board inside the doorlock to soak up any moisture should it build up from the condensation of cold outside and heat from the inner side of the door. Better be safe than sorry. Good luck andThank You Harfo for this product. Hope it'll last for years! Seems like real deal - quality over quantity, great job!EDIT: Update So, it was raining pouring for couple of days now. Display is fine, no fogging effect nor affected clarity. Working operation of the unit, sealing the unit certainly saved it as the rainwater got pushed inside the fingerprint sensor area all the way up, keypad is all wet, seems working and hope it will survive the winter. However, fingerprint sensor being wet did render tens of failed unlock attempts, keypad was somewhat useless as well, so I wiped it with the sleeve of my jacket, that way cleaned my finger of water and voila, worked on 1st hit with my finger being tad moist still. Well done, but, not having fabric that would soak up the water from the sensor, would be a problem. Make sure youre taking a tiny paper towel along with you on a rainy days lol.UPDATE: 4 months later, the lock seized. Electronic works but the inner motor that releases the PIN to catch onto outer handle ring to actually open the door no longer operates. Other reviewer states that the wiring was cut as his issue makes sense to be the culprit I have yet to investigate the issue. Definitely a bummer after sealing it from inside which was quite a work to do it neatly, now you get the message that the door is unlocked but cant hear the mechanism so of course after pulling the handle downwards, you cant feel any resistance and the door wont open. Shame shame. I have yet to contact the seller but sealing another lock again isnt something I'm happy about. The design is fault in few aspects to begin with but lasting 4 months is unbeliewable, even across the fact that the battery is missing only 20%. This lock should last 4 years, not months since its physically robust.

I really want to love this... but not so much
First of all, great construction. This is one of the few biometric devices that feels like a heavy duty door handle. It's just solid. The RFID readers work really well (exception, as an admin when I hit my key against the face occasionally I hit a button at the same time and it puts me into admin mode instead of unlocking). I hate hate hate that you can tag yourself in and accidentally hit the button for passage mode. Every one of these locks from anyone has this stupid passage mode, be it a control or a button, that people accidentally hit. Worthless, just make it a switch that needs to be physically changed and make it difficult to change -- at least this unit reads outloud that you're in passage mode so you can un-do it). Now the unfortunate deal killer. IT DOESN"T ACTIVATE TO READ MY PRINT. This is the second model so it's not just me -- or rather IT IS ME. Apparently the print reader is turned on by sensing your skin (I assume like the safety bar on my shredder it's running some low level current though and detects your skin). In my case, it appears my skin isn't damp enough (or really, the unit just isn't sensitive enough). Once I contacted the seller and they explained it should auto sense I essentially licked my finder and it worked. Not exactly the way I want to get into my door everytime. Sometimes I'm slightly more sweaty and it will just work, but there appears to be no way to adjustthis and I can't believe I'm the only one that faces this. (and the finger licking thing is self defeating because then you get the sensor wet and you can't read your print, it turns into a lick, wipe your pants, print scan scenario). Such a shame. I'd give this 5 stars other than the fact it's essentially useless for what I wanted it for..... very disappointed (tried two units before someone tells me this was just a one-off).

Doesn't do the job
The instruction booklet is very poorly translated and missing a lot of information. Both the keyboard and the fingerprint sensors are very glitchy. Pretty much never you are able to open the door at the first attempt with fingerprint. Often you end up having to punch in a code out of frustration after so many unsuccessful tries with your finger.Looks good but doesn't do the job, the quality of construction is also approximate, the handle is already getting loose after a few days of use
