I've tried 2 other laptop trays, both with the cushions underneath - thick, bulky, cumbersome, and made me feel like not bothering getting my gaming laptop out and just playing games on my Steam Deck instead. However I thought I'd try this tray, and it's actually perfect. It's slim, light, very comfortable on your lap despite having no cushions, and even better it has a mouse tray that's wider than the other ones I've used - ideal for gaming! Extremely happy with my purchase!

I've bought a few trays looking for something I can use consistently but they're always too thick or too heavy or the angles are wrong. Initially, I picked up the Targus version of this style of tray but I found myself disappointed. Laptops and keyboards weren't stable and mice were making spirited attempts to escape the mouse tray at speed. The idea is good so I kept looking until I found this. It's spot on for what I need and is everything my empty soul has been longing for. The two big grippy bits on the main tray face hold devices in place perfectly with no annoying rotation or slippage as you type. But I was most pleased with the mouse deck. Not only is it available on either side but it has a simple strip of grippy stuff along the bottom edge (only right facing). This alone is enough to arrest the motion of even the most active of rodents and prevents their escape into furniture. Lastly, considering the difference in price is only a few quid, the quality over the Targus is massive. The mouse deck on this tray feels a lot more solid and I feel like I can safely rest my hand on it

It's well made, easy to use and the mouse tray can open on either side. I'd fully recommend this to anyone as it avoids the issue of blocking vents on laptops which causes overheating and fluff/dust build up inside from placing laptops on duvets, laps etc. It's also good if you want to place a wireless keyboard and mouse on your lap allowing you to relax in an office chair, slightly back from your desk/monitors. The one, slight, but annoying issue is that the mouse pad is so incredibly slippery that you have to keep the tray completely flat to avoid the mouse sliding off. I've solved this by placing a mouse pad on the tray, cut to fit. It would be perfect if the tray had a really thin fabric or less slippy rubber/plastic coating. I bought my own adhesive plastic coating to try that, but it was so sticky the mouse would barely move at all.

I thought I would write a review after a few weeks of using this portable Laptop mat, I had to consider the best term to refer to this and that was the closest description I could think of... I originally sought something to stand my Laptop on whilst gaming on my PC, lounging on the bed with the TV on in the background. The thing is, with the Graphics card turned to maximum power, a lot of heat was building up under the laptop where the vents were blocked by the duvet, with the occasional crash This wonderful accessory has improved the running efficiency by allowing the fan assisted vents to function correctly whilst giving a stable non slip base. It is perfectly suited to my 13.3" screen ASUS laptop (and should also be spot on when I upgrade in the near future to my next Laptop, a 14" MSI laptop) The non slip works very well, and this item now nearly always travels with my laptop, it is light enough too... The mouse pad extension is very good too, available for either side. My only comment is that if you have a large mouse, you have to learn to stay in the confines of the mouse mat area, (my smaller MS wireless mouse is better for that). Mainly an issue when I get stressed in a game...that's a "me" issue I thoroughly recommend this product Firebrande

Very useful piece of equipment when you prefer to use a mouse and are limited for space as it gives you an extra little desk bit which is very useful for your mouse. A sturdy bit of kit and very comfortable .All in all good value for money.

A brilliant piece of kit, exactly the right size for a 15.6" laptop. Not too bulky or cumbersome. Nice soft silicone style rubber grips top and bottom so the laptop doesn't slide off it and it doesn't slide off your knee. Laptop fans are running a lot quieter now than when I used the laptop on my knee. The mouse pad is a nice touch but something I'll never use as I just use the touchpad. Would definitely recommend if you don't want something too bulky or fancy, it is basic but it works.

Says it's for MacBooks on the product packaging.. but nowhere does it mention this in the listing

I’ve been using the AboveTEK Portable Laptop Lap Desk for a while now, and it’s been really convenient for working from my sofa or bed. The lap desk feels sturdy and stable, and I like that it has retractable mouse trays on both the left and right sides, which is great for either left or right use but you can only have one side out at a time. The non-slip surface keeps my laptop secure, and the heat shield helps keep things cool during long sessions. It’s also lightweight enough to carry around for travel. My only small complaint is that the mouse trays can feel a bit tight with larger mice, but overall, it’s a great product that makes working from anywhere more comfortable.

Exactly what I was looking for. I sit mainly on the couch when I use my laptop and this works great making sure it doesn't over heat and the mouse pad is an added bonus. Not flimsy and seems durable, lightweight

Playing games on my laptop really got it hot. I needed a pad without fans to cool off my legs. This works great. It is very light and my 15.7 inch laptop fits well. I can play easily without feeling the heat now. The slide out mouse pad seems a little flexible but you can switch to left or right and it might come in handy.
