So far so good
This product has the feel of a good quality heavy tin foil in tape form. It wasn’t flimsy or thin and was more than sticky enough to do the job. I dry wiped my pots to ensure no dust before applying. I’ve only just planted my plants in these pots and I take it that’s the best way to approach the control of pests. If you already have a problem the tape can do little for you. Many slugs burrow under the soil during the day so will already be present in your pots. I’ve applied this to four medium to large pots and I still have a small amount left. You can’t get it smooth, it does wrinkle but it is still aesthetically pleasing and as long as it does the job I’m happy. I will update my review should any slugs manage to cross this.

great stuff...
Bought this item a few weeks ago and got to work wrapping a raised veg planter with it. I put two layers of tape, one above the other with no gap in between as I've read on the web that the little slimy bu**ers can actually arch their bodies over a thin strip of copper. Hopefully now the amount of arching required will be too big even for the biggest slugs. Must say that so far the tape is doing the trick, no attacks from slugs or snails and I've got hundreds of the them in my garden. The tape is super sticky so grips really well and is a doddle to put on. It even seems to repel ants, which are another headache for me. Only thing I would suggest really would be wider tape so that no doubling up would be required, but I guess it's easy enough to do yourself.Very happy with it, would definitely buy more if needed. It clean, green and no nasty horrible chemicals around my veg :)

Really pleased just how effective this is
Really pleased just how effective this is. I have a dogs water bowl in the garden that the slugs use as a spa, I seemed to be forever cleaning it and evicting the slugs. (I don't use slug pellets as it poisons hedgehogs and birds so have a fairly large population of the slugs and snails unfortunately). Any way, since putting this tape round the bowl, it's not had any slugs or snails in it, none! I thought it might be a bit of a deterrent but am happily surprised at how effective the tape has been.

Mostly working!
Largely seems to work: one potted clematis is thriving where last year it was eaten to the ground. The other clematis has been attacked once but only after two months. I've gotten quite obsessed by this fight! Have planted garlic nearby (they don't like it apparently) and regularly spread coffee grounds around the base of the pots. The tape itself goes on easily but it very thin so requires careful handling. Sticks well even to not necessarily the cleanest surfaces.

Slugs yes, snails no.
I bought one roll of this for my little girls flower pots as we didn't want her touching the blue slug pellets. Or the frogs from the pond eating the slugs after eating the pellets! We put it around the plant pots double width (we read from another reviewer slugs can arch their bodies over) so ran out pretty quickly, leaving half of the pots without it. The next few days, we found the plants with the copper tape were untouched, but the ones without we were finding exploded slugs all over (from the left over slug pellets sadly). We've bought more and protected all the other plants, taken all the slug pellets away and we honestly haven't seen any more slugs except in one pot the day after, which I suspect we accidentally trapped in there when we put the tape on!!! We have seen them in the planters on the wall though that we obviously can't protect. However, this doesn't work on snails!! When I spotted a snail crawling across the patio I stuck some copper tape in front of him, and the little slimer went straight across it no probs! Despite this, I will deffo buy copper tape every Summer to keep the slugs away, it works fab! Just make sure you clean it every so often.

Makes for great EMI shielding
I had no idea about slugs and copper until I needed research and buy some copper tape to help with some shielding on a cable I have between two electrical components. I can't comment on the slugs like or dislike to this product, but it certainly did the trick when it came to wrapping the cable. A couple of winds around followed by a layer of insulation tape and the interference was gone. You might as my not just swap the cable, but it's not that simple - it's attached to a load-cell with individually soldered wires on the other end on a hidden circuit board. This was by far the simplest way to achieve the result I wanted.

Great for shielding guitars!
True, this review won't be much use to gardeners, but slug tape is in fact a common purchase by guitarists who want to shield their electronics from EM interference. This worked fine for me. I didn't even need to solder the joints - got good continuity just by overlapping the tape. Unfortunately, I don't know if it deters slugs... my guitar playing scares them off though!

EUREKA It works! But them big slugs and snails, they need DOUBLE TAPE! Lol
I like it, it deters safely and off they go to devourer something else, though they try really hard. I would buy again but it's a war out there and I would need a LoooooOT of tape. I don't know maybe I'll invest in copper pots, raised beds, paving everything copper... Lol. Good product Thanks.

Kept Slugs Out of House
I was having two or three slugs a week sneak into my house through imperceptible entrances (I did some serious hunting), but after I lined the floor around my kitchen counters and back door, I've stopped receiving unwelcome visitors. I'm assuming it's causation as well as correlation and this tape did the trick! Do be aware that it can become quite unattractive if it becomes wet, but then, sometimes style must be sacrificed in the battle against slugs.

Sorry to say.... it doesn’t work.
This just doesn’t work. I got up this morning and find a slug just sliding along it without a care! Won’t be buying any more.

Not great - slugs still slugged with no problems .....
I found it doesn’t really work - the slugs manage to get over..... and I double widthed it..... maybe they Pole vaulted or jumped or something crazy and sluggish like a slug competition to see who could achieve the impossible..... I’m sure they have secret powers......anyway I’m sorry but I wouldn’t recommend it ....Trying to unstick it was pretty hard though so at least the glue was good....

Great for sheilding guitar cavitys!
Good quality very sticky copper tape. Its about an inch thick. Fairly thick and solid as far as copper tape goes. It's much cheaper than stuff sold as guitar cavity shielding, and you get loads! So far my guitar has remained slug free too. Which is an added bonus, as I hate slugs on my guitar as they never wipe the strings down after.

Looks good and it works
This looks good running around the edges of my raised vegetable plot. It certainly feels like very thin copper strip and it works because I saw two slugs on the outside wooden planks underneath the strip this morning (and none inside the plot). I know they would have gone over the top and spent a happy evening munching my veg without this strip.I don't like killing slugs and snails and so a humane deterrent like this is a bonus. Apologies to my neighbours if I have displaced the slug and snail population to their gardens!

Very effective for slug control
This worked far better than I had anticipated. The tape stuck firmly to my wooden raised flower bed and hasn't budged a few months later.Definitely noticed a significant reduction in slug damage to the plants in the bed. Now all I need is mini laser-guided missiles to take down the cabbage whites eating the other half of them!

Really works!
Bought as the slugs were enjoying the asparagus before I got to it. I’d previously tried eggshells as a deterrent with no effect. But after applying the tape (really easily!) no more slugs. Will be buying more for my other tasty pot plants!
