Nice low light night light when plugged in. When the power goes out, it really illuminates the room. Unplug, and you have yourself a flashlight. I have them in every room of the house, two in some rooms.

I bought these just before Hurricane Milton hit. I liked that they could be flashlights, nightlights, or power outage lights. I've used them as all three. They make great nightlights. They come on right away when the power goes out, and the battery lasts a pretty long time after the power goes out and they become flashlights. We were out of power for 5 days, so were glad we also had regular battery flashlights, but these were a great help the first night.

With no generator to keep the lights on when the power goes out, this lightweight and simple device keeps a main hallway lit, and offers a flashlight to boot, providing me with a secure feeling that I'll not be without any light at all until the power is restored. When power is on, at night, this also keeps the hallway lit for guests in my home without having to turn on a ceiling light. It provides that soft, dim, lighting that is perfect for late night perambulation. Easy to use, easy to install. I rated it lower for motion detection, because I don't think it is meant to provide that, other than illuminating when it is dark.

The emergency light and flashlight features are very good, but the night light is so dim that is is of marginal value.

Final Thoughts: These emergency lights offer peace of mind and practicality. They’re a reliable light source during outages, and the flashlight feature adds extra convenience. I’m happy with the upgrade and feel confident navigating my home or heading outside safely in the dark. If you're a parent of young adults, this is a must-have for their dorm rooms or new apartments. It makes me feel better knowing that my kids have resources in an emergency situation. Highly recommend!

I had one of these for about a year. I liked it so much I took it whenever I went one the road. Gives my hotel room a touch of home. But last weekend I moved rooms in the middle of my stay and left it in the room never to be seen again! So I was delighted to find it on Amazon. So, as it turns out 3 lumens is the perfect amount of light for a bathroom nightlight! More is too much light, you don't want to wake up if you have to make a night time pit stop! And less is just too dull to find your way in an unfamiliar place. I've got a bunch of nightlights and I like this one the best. The flashlight is very bright and useful and the emergency light would virtually light up a room in a power outage. It's compact and light enough to travel easily. But DON'T leave it in the hotel room. Sadly it's just too cool for people to return!!
