Best price performance DAC ever
At ths price you get a decent DAC - highly recommended - sound quality usually much better than PC motherboard - have been using them for years with no issues.

Brought my HD599s to life
When the front audio jack on my PC finally died after one too many 'tripping over the cable' events, I decided to use it as an opportunity to upgrade, and went with the cheapest 'decent' DAC that I could find. Really glad I did as this has totally transformed the sound I get from my Sennheiser 599s. Stereo separation somehow seems much better, and it's much easier to pick out instruments, as well as a nice low-end boost over the built in audio. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that the volume knob feels a little light and cheap, and doesn't turn smoothly when you get past about 50% volume.

Problem with the lights
is it normal for the orange 48hkz light not to be on as soon as the computer starts? But if i go to the windows 10 settings and select the 48khz the light will turn on normal. Wasn't it supposed to always be on? Does the device work normal? Other than that a good product is worth the price

Not the greatest quality and the EQ is a joke.
I know this is hardly expensive, but I bought this primarily for the EQ facility. But that is a joke, as it is either more treble OR more bass, but not both. Also the amount it increases the treble buy is barely noticeable.

Incredible device which won't break the bank
Was unsure about whether or not this would help my audio situation but I have to say it really came through. I have a Sennheiser GSP500 headset and found that my motherboard wasn't giving it enough juice (Asrock Z390 ITX Phantom-Gaming SLI/AC) so I put this in to the mix and they've given my headset the extra oomph they needed to deliver a much louder experience while maintaining incredible sound quality. The treble, neutral and bass switch is pretty great too when you need it in a pinch. Only issue is that the Netflix Windows 10 app will not push audio through it but that's a pretty minor problem.

Close enough to perfect for me
Summary: Excellent sound for the price and a really good basic DAC for PC and Playstation. My listening is exclusively through a pair of Philips SHP9500 headphones, so take that for what it's worth. This DAC can drive them uncomfortably loud but clearly. It is a mostly neutral sound stage with little or no effect to the sound or sound stage. In fact it is quite flat. You can change that with the front panel switch but it just toggles between three positions: treble boost, neutral, and bass boost, there is no fine tune adjustments of any of the switch positions. The unit does not seem to support any digital decoder formats like Dolby ATMOS or DTS, when I sent those signal formats down the pipe it was just noise. There are supposedly software solutions to enhance the experience but I haven't searched yet. Speaking of volume, the volume knob on top controls the unit's internal output volume and does NOT control Windows volume in any way. This can be both good and bad depending on how you normally use external volume controls, but make sure you adjust both before calling it a dud. As for input I am using an Audio-Technica ATGM2 boom mic attached to the headset and it is able to get good sound and volume. My only "hiccups" were with the way Windows 11 handles basic USB input methods and trying to wrangle the system to listen to the correct input. Since this is simply a "USB Audio Device" it may take trial and error to find which one it is. I like the bit rate/hertz display (44.1, 48, 96) and visual feedback of the sound (might be distracting to others to see a flashing LED). Because this is a basic USB audio device it requires no software for setup on Windows 11 (and *should* be the same for a fully updated Windows 10 computer).
