Bedding works great for terrariums, whether for frogs, lizards, snakes, or even rodents this bark bedding holds up well. It covers about half of the bottom of a 100 gallon tank. It smells very pleasant, does cause slivers, absorbs moisture and odor, and is a very reasonable price for the bag you’ll get. Helps snake shed their skin by providing a course surface to rub against to loosen and remove the skin. It’s reddish in color adding a little bit of atmosphere to your terrarium, sone contrast depending on the color of your snake, could also work as a hiding place again depending on the color of your amphibian. When it’s dirty just dump it scoop it from the tank and toss it in the trash, open new bag and fill the bottom with a generous layer.

Love that this product is ready for use. I use this in my tortoise enclosure and it works perfectly. Great smell perfect for indoor enclosures. Will be buying more

I bought this to sort of use as a replacement for orchid bark and add it to my soil mix. I got to use about half of what was in the bag because there's a pretty big difference between this and the stuff made especially for plants. There's quite a bit of dust in this bag. Everything is dusty and I had to clean everything off before picking out the pieces I could use. In the end once I picked out the unusable portion and all the dust was removed, I was left with about half of the bag. So just keep that in mind. It's still a pretty good deal.

Too many substrates end up leaving a lot of residue in the water bowl. This one is nice sizing pieces of bark, up to half inch. I have not encountered any insect problems as I have seen reported with other brands. I also layer some peat moss on top after soaking with water to keep humidity up was needed at various times year. I have also recently re-landscaped to use large flat rocks around the water bowl/swimming bowl to keep the substrate a little further away from the water and less likely to make a mess.

Works well for amendments to potting soil for houseplants. Small chunks work great.

Have bought this before. I used one of the bags on top of 20 pounds of sand and it is perfect! Used it on top of ten pounds of sand last time. Bearded dragons terrarium is 36” x 18” x 18” and one bag of this is a must! Great product and never had one single issue or complaint.

I use it as an add-on to aroid soil and have seen a positive turnaround with some of my pickier indoor plants. It is also a very good top dressing that helps keep fungus gnats at bay and prevents some water-loving plants from drying out too quickly. This is much more economical than the bark that you can find at garden centers and plant stores as well. The pieces are about 1.5 cm to 2cm size, my batch was clean, without any dust or bigger sticks.

Used this as an additive to my plant soil and so far ym fiddle leaf fig likes it! The pieces aren't too big and add a lot of aeration and chunk to the soil.

nice petite chunks with very little dust or debris. cannot speak for reptiles as this was for an orchid mix but a good price for the quantity and quality.

They are very nice bark chip but they are very small so I usually have to use a lot per pot to get a very airy soil mix for my plants.

Cheaper than Orchid bark mix and the sizes are small/medium. You definitely have to rinse it thoroughly first. I agree that there were a lot of splinters. Reasonably priced. Will buy again.
