Terrible. The glue seemed toxic. You could smell the product through the box and plastic. We were scared and threw it away.

This review is for the very nice (sturdy) nesting box with the black roof that I bought last month. I really like it, and glad I bought 5, because the Amazon site owner already screwed up the links. I attached a photo of the nice nesting box I bought in February 2026.

have 2 problems with the bird house. Because of how they cut the wood, I have to turn a screw through a 2 1/2 inch knot on the top of the right front side panel to hold the roof on. I already heard the wood crack and I barely have the screw started. The other problem is that the back board is cracked the entire length on the board. I'll have to get some weather resistant glue and try to mend the board. Otherwise, the stress of installing screws on the side panels will surely crack the board completely. This board is also quite cupped. After gluing it I'll have to plane it straight. I have the tools to do these things, most people don't.

It smells so bad! We gave this to my mother-in-law on Mother’s Day and the next day went to her house and it was filled with a terrible smell. We took the birdhouse and the packaging outside. It all smelled toxic. There was no way birds were going to use that. The refund was pretty easy though, and the house itself was cute.
