Way BasicsBook Shelf 4 Cubby Storage (Tool-free Assembly)

My fiance and I were recently at Target looking for shelves for our new apartment, picked up what looked to be a reasonable set, when I noticed a big warning label on the box that warned about formaldehyde and cancer risk. I did some quick research, and yeah, it's an actual thing. I was disappointed to later find out that most cheap furniture like this has the same issue, and has to do with how compact board is manufactured. But a quick Google search for an alternative returned this set, so I decided to at least give it a try, despite some less than stellar reviews.I am happy to say that I really like the product, and even though it is non-traditional, and maybe a little overpriced, I believe it was a great buy. It was easy to assemble, feels sturdy, and is nice and light. The real advantage here is that there is no off gassing (releasing of dangerous chemicals into the air) and the whole thing is sustainably made! If you don't mind paying a little bit more for a safer and environmentally conscious product, then it's definitely worth it.P.S. When assembling, make sure to not remove the adhesive strips from the boards when removing the paper strips. I did this to a few of them, so will need to apply some glue where the adhesive is missing.

The product seems to be made of cardboard. It attaches together with sticky edges that you get to after peeling off the paper. This doesn't hold it together at all. Due to the material you can't use a screw or nail as it looks as though it will fall apart. We used hot glue at each seam front and back to hold it together. I would have returned it but we needed something immediately. It's holding fine with the glue but it really shouldn't have required that much DIY effort. Also, the color is off, not quite a white more of an ivory.

I am so glad I did not read reviews before purchasing this. I had very specific dimensions that it had to fit in, and I wanted white. It is a light weight product, it is put together with sticky tape and dowels, and it is awesome! If you read what the product as you will not be disappointed. So glad I ordered it, wish it came in more colors for other areas of the home.

It was easy to assemble, and it looks good, but I was expecting something sturdier. The board material is corrugated cardboard and it's covered with a plastic jacket. I'm using it for a storage compartment in my bedroom closet to store folded t-shirts, and this component should work fine for my use, but if you are looking to store heavier thinks, I would suggest looking for one made of particleboard, or real wood.

Very tiny. I wonder how long it’ll last cause it’s so lightweight I don’t see it being very durable.2 days later this has literally fallen into pieces. That really made me mad and I’m now gonna find a way to return this

I assumed the construction of these would be just like any basic cube storage, they’re not. These are basically cardboard, which I could deal with, but they’re held together by what is essentially double sided tape. Double sided tape with extremely poor adhesion at that.I got these as a cheap storage option. Sometimes you really get what you pay for. Just skip these and spend the money on better quality.

I laughed til I cried when I realized I bought a cardboard box that looks like furniture instead of a peice of cheap furniture. BUT, that said, I kept it because I needed it that day, it does the job and it's in fact free of the toxic fumes and stuff that comes with those other cheap storage cubes. Quite expensive for what it is and not super sturdy but overall it looks good and works!

I was skeptical when I made this purchase after reading reviews. However, once finding out the stacking cubes I had in my toddler and newborns nursery closet include prop 65 formaldehyde warnings, I had to replace them right away. These are sturdy and serving the exact same purpose as the others. Yes, maybe a bit more expensive but for the clean materials I think it’s well worth it. The customer service was also excellent when I reached out to them. I highly recommend these over particle board storage cubes!

Pas dure à assembler mais de très faible qualité.J'ai dû mettre de la colle dans tous les trous et mettre de la pesanteur dans les coins pour l'aider à coller.Le produit est très léger car c'est du papier et non du bois entre les mélamines.Je ne recommande pas.Je ne peux malheureusement retourner car j'ai jeté la boite. Je suis très déçu pour le prix

Facilísimo de armar, resistente (al agua no, pues es cartón reciclado), y de look minimalista.

The shelves hold together by extremely thin & weak 3M tape. Pre drilled holes do not hold the cheap plastic pegs sturdy at all.Every shelf wobbled & shock while trying to put it together.Once the top was on, the whole thing collapsed onto itself. A few corners got damaged in the process.I wouldn’t pay $10.00 for this cheap 4 Cubby.Save your money or buy a big bottled of Gorilla Glue!!! I’m returning immediately!!!

Corners are dented, sides peeling. It's in bad shape.

Very flimsy. Only held together by tape and small wooden pieces. Definitely not worth the price.
