Sir Yurt Alot!
I like big Yurts and I can not lie You other brothers can't deny That when a Tent pole's pitched with an smelly welly bitch And a round thing in your face You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough 'Cause you notice that Yurt was stuffed Deep in the Woods We're camping I'm hooked and I can't stop staring Oh baby, I wanna get with you And take your picture My homeboys tried to warn me But that Yurt you got makes me so horny Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin You say you wanna get in my Benz? Well, use me, use me 'Cause you ain't that average groupie I've seen them dancin' To hell with romancin' She's sweat, wet, Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette I'm tired of magazines Sayin' flat Yurts are the thing Take the average Camping man and ask him that She gotta pack much back So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!) Has your girlfriend got the Yurt? (Hell yeah!) Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!) Shake that healthy Yurt! Baby got back!

Good book but grubby
I bought it as a gift. The content was good but I bought it second hand from seller in 'very good condition'. When I received it it was covered in food stains and had to wash the cover and also the edges of the pages were yellowing. I've quite often bought second hand books through amazon but they've been in a lot better condition

Thorough and fascinating
Whether you're thinking of relocating to a yurt, or would like an unusual tent to spend your holidays in, or if you just like learning a bit more about very different cultures, then this is the book for you. 'The Complete Yurt Handbook' is a book of two halves. The first part 'The Yurt' looks at the history, geography and virtues of yurts. It then goes on to examine the different parts of a yurt structure. This is followed by a very interesting chapter on life in a Mongolian yert or ger. Here you'll learn about the Mongolian climate and the livestock nomadic Mongolians keep. There's a section on food and drink, including some recipes you can try for yourself. You are then told the rules of yurt etiquette, in case you're lucky enough to ever be invited inside. The final pages of part one look at the construction of a Mongolian ger and other types of yurts. Part two 'Yurt Construction' is a practical guide to building your own yurt. It discusses the different types of yurt, with their advantages and disadvantages, so you can choose which type is right for you. It then walks you through the materials you'll need, before emnarking on frame construction. It also shows how to put together the canvas cover. At the back of the book there are worked examples, which you can follow to build your own yurt if you're not comfortable designing your own. This is followed up by a glossary of Mongolian words, a large bibliography and the details of several yurt makers worldwide. 'The Complete Yurt Handbook' really lives up to its name - it's a fascinating book, and tells you everything you'll need to know to build and inhabit your own yurt!

Great resource. I had a previous copy of this book and couldn't find it. This is an excellent resource for the history and traditions surrounding yurts, and the how to section is super helpful for constructing your own yurt. Enjoy Be Well and Good Journey

Todavía no lo he leído en profundidad, pero en una primera lectura en diagonal tiene una pinta estupenda, muy completo, con buenas ilustraciones para aclarar las instrucciones de construcción. El ejemplar llegó en perfectas condiciones.

Mr. King gives a good overview, how the Yurt is used by nomadic people in Mongolia and also by many, who nowadays live in cities, but prefer, to live in a Yurt. And he also describes in clear terms, how a Yurt is constructed. A Yurt seems to be a good alternative for a conventional tent.
