Just what I needed and at a great price
Here is the short of it: These things are a great value and well worth their price. Actually they are a bargain for what you get. I use my flashlights a lot due to aging eyes, a lot of work that needs good illumination and two dogs that I have to take out every night. I have been through a lot of flashlights, large and small and have learned what I like and what I don't. This light I love. What I like: Very reasonable price. In fact this light is worth much more than its humble price. Nice size and features. The simple push button on the end is easy to use and works well. The size of the light is very convenient and fits easily in a pocket out of the way. Brightness and color: This thing works much better than I could ever expect. I am just very impressed with its clean white beam and the brightness. I can walk my dog at night with just this little powerhouse. Build: It seems very well made for the price. Again, I have a lot of lights but none of the lower priced lights come close to this thing. I love it. Its just what I needed, sized right to carry in a pocket, nice and bright, built very well, simple and best of all it uses normal AAA batteries not some odd ball special or expensive battery like AAAA's or CR123's.. I use the Panasonic rechargeable and save even more money. Yes, I would buy it again without a thought. Fact is I think I will get some more and give them out at Christmas as a stocking stuffer.

My new go-to general purpose flashlight.
These little lights are quite a bit lighter than my previous go-to flashlight of choice.... a Maglite XL50 (1st generation, 3x AAA LED), which I frequently ended up holding onto with my mouth while working with both hands. These lights are obviously lighter because of the 1 less battery, which also allows for a thinner diameter body, which for my purposes, is great! I've already dropped on from head-high onto asphalt, and it kept working without any issue. I was holding onto it in my mouth while putting my bike up onto my car's bike rack, well before the sun was even close to rising... and it slipped out and smacked the hard asphalt on an angle. It did put a tiny dent in the lens-end of the light, where it hit the ground, but it didn't break anything. Both lights have equal brightness, as well as equally smooth, uniformed light patterns that are artifact free. These are not 'super bright', they don't have multi-function/flashing controllers, they don't have the greatest throw either, but for working on something around the house, around the desk, or automobile/camping, whatever quick light duty task... it's a great light! I just don't know how long the batteries last. **I should also note that I've tested the two lights while using different batteries in each, for comparison, and then swapping the batteries to ensure equal results: I used a pair of 4-year old rechargeable NiMh (freshly charged) in one, while using new Alkaline batteries in the other... the difference in brightness between the two was not noticeable. All in all, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a decent small flashlight, something like what you'd keep in a pen-holder on your desk that you reach for when you drop something on the floor, toss into a handbag, keep next to the circuit breaker. I would NOT recommend these for someone looking to spot animals at night, these are not suitable for someone looking for a... "tactical" light, also I would not rely on these to land an aircraft, nor to signal aliens half way across the galaxy either. They are simple pen-lights, short throw, with an OK brightness for, as I said, "light duty" use.

Excellent tool!
After almost exactly one year of constant use, the first one finally died. I’ve taken it apart as far as I could, I guess it’s just something wrong in the mini circuit board thingy where the led light is. Don’t know how to fix that. I’ve carried this in my pocket and used it multiple times every day for the last year. I couldn’t count how many batteries I’ve gone through and I’ve dropped it hundreds of times. As a self employed contractor who moonlights as DIY mechanic, this has been endlessly useful and now stays clipped on my pocket right next to my pocket knife. My only suggestion would be to put teeth grips toward the base of the handle! With it being a two pack, I get to start using the other one now. I plan to get two years of constant use from this package, I call that a great deal! When the next one dies I’ll gladly buy another pack. UPDATE! Actually it was bad batteries that made my light flicker! That didn’t occur to me since I’d recently put new batteries in but they were given to me from a friend and apparently they were quite old. New batteries and it works like new again!

Good value
Good value for a small light. The switch is crisp and the light is bright. The clip is large enough to grab the pocket of a thin shirt. The only light I can compare this to is the Streamlight Stylus Pro. The size is almost identical. The Streamlight has a switch that can be activated without fully switching on while the GearLight switch is simply on or off. The action of the switch on the GearLight is more to my liking as the Streamlight switch is stiffer. The finish on the GearLight is satin and can be chipped easily while the Streamlight finish is a lot tougher. The light output is similar with the GearLight being slightly brighter, but less focused. The StreamLight produces a more focused and larger beam, even if it is slightly dimmer. All said, getting two of these for less than the price of the other makes the GearLight a good value. These are a great size to store in a vehicle or to scatter around the house in case of a power outage.
