I tried this in approximately 2 cups of non canola vegetable oil that had been used to fry fish. As shown in the video, it did coagulate the oil entirely. It took slightly longer than 30 minutes, but the pan was still quite warm. As soon as I moved it under the kitchen fan, it hardened the rest of the way instantaneously. Total elapsed time was about 36 minutes. Completely acceptable. This relatively inexpensive product will pay for itself in time savings and burns. We are older now and getting burned trying to pour hot oil into an old can is serious. Glad I found this product and as we don’t fry often, it will likely last us for many months. One tip, the scoop won’t want to go back in spoon side down. But if you put it back with the handle pushed into the product it goes back in easily.

I was on the fence about buying this and didn’t believe it could do the job. Well, let me tell you I was wrong. My daughter and I cooked dinner and made fried chicken. Once I finished frying the chicken I added 3 scoop of the mixture and left it over night. Guess what!?!? The next morning it was a solid gel and all I had to do was scoop it out into a bag for the garbage can. Very easy to use! My father put cooking oil down the drain and clogged up pipes and had to pay a large bill to clean out. The drainage company labeled it as abuse to drains. We all know you shouldn’t put this down our drains hopefully. It works I’m ordering a bigger jar. Great product!

I love this stuff. It works great, but if you use too much it will be very difficult to get it out of the pan. Basically turns into hard wax stuck to your pan. Since I’ve got the ratios down and don’t use too much anymore, it makes clean up a breeze and I don’t have to figure out what to do with my oil. It’s very easy to use and it’s a good size. A little goes a long way.

I'd give 4 stars but I didn't purchase it for me. It's weird, but it's for Father's Day as part of a "practical package" of goodies (to save him plumbing woes). I went by the ratings online related to the product. I'm sure it works as well as any name brand. Thank you. Great price in comparison to other brands.

I looked at this stuff for a long time before I actually purchased any. I struggle with purchasing something with the intent of throwing it out. This makes disposing of the oil so much nicer though! We used to have a can or two sitting around on the counter to drain the used oil into and it was a whole process and I hated having to look at the cans on the counter. I just sprinkle a bit of this stuff into the hot oil, stir it up and the next morning the oil has solidified. It's kind of like a soft wax when it gets hard. I use a plastic spatula to scrape it out of the pan. The concept of this is just crazy to me but it makes one aspect of cooking so much easier that I would buy it again. We don't fry stuff very frequently so one container will last us quite a long time. If you fry on a regular basis I think this might be cost prohibitive.

It works well. I try nit yo clog the drains cause plumbers are expensive. I don’t use a lit of oils when cooking but I just boiled a corned beef brisket, had to get rid of the fat the beef donated to the water do used this stuff. Had no idea how many millimeters of water was in there so just shoveled some of this stuff in & left it to cool for a few hours (cause I didn’t want to deal with cleaning the pot when I could be eating). The stuff set the fat into a mostly hard she’ll on top of the pot & used my hands to break it into large pieces so I could bag it & put into the landfill trash. Real easy to do & my pipes are happy.

I used this three times. The first time, it was semi-hard to remove from the pan. The second time, it was a little more difficult. I used it again today and that stuff is like cement. I had to gently and methodically chip away at it with a firm nylon spoon. The little chips that fly off are very dense grease. Maybe if I had a pot of hot water instead of some oil in a pan then the result might have been better.

I don't fry food very often, but when I do I use a deep fryer. I've always been kind of bad about replacing the oil just because the whole process is a bit of a chore. I wound up seeing a video where they used an oil solidifier and figured I'd give it a try. Turns out it's a bit of a game changer. Not having to have a separate container for old oil is fantastic, I throw a measured amount of this stuff in my fryer while it's still hot after I've cooked several times and then it's ready to just slide out into the garbage after it's cooled. I will probably always use this kind of stuff going forward and this brand was one of the better price points I found.
