The Umbrella Academy: Dallas Review: Astonishing. - I had been waiting two years to read this graphic novel; along with Gerard Way's first Graphic Novel, The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite. I picked up the first novel at a small comic books store in downtown Chicago. Let's just say that it was pricey, much too expensive for the content that I was provided. The first novel blew me away, it is in short a literal work of art. The story line fascinating. The art work captivating. My interest had been continually peaked. I finally got to see inside the mind of the man behind the music I had been listening to since 2001. I fell in love with both graphic novels, and I am looking foreword to purchasing his second comic set, The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Review: Good book - The story is outstanding and a great follow up to apocalypse suite. I left the package outside for a few days in the Texas humidity and the adhesive on the back weakened, so not the best paper back quality I suppose.

Best Comic I've Ever Read
I think all of the Umbrella Academy comics are must-haves for fans, but despite having a good love for all of them, volumes 1 and 3 weren't the most exciting things in the world for me. Dallas is different though. The story is wild and interesting but done really really well, taking place in some really interesting settings that show some of the characters' interesting traits. New and amazing characters and conflicts are also introduced, and the ending was wild and left my jaw dropped. Easily the best volume in the series

If you liked the first book you'll like this too
If you've only watched the show and are looking for these to directly be the reference material you'll probably be disappointed for how much the show strayed (probably for the better in my opinion). If you are open to it not being like the show then it is still very enjoyable and worth the read.

Not what I was expecting
Not what I was expecting. If you were looking for something to complement then the flick series, this ain’t it. If you want the original content and ok with very complicated crowded drawings of a story you didn’t expect, it’s fine. To be honest I wish my eyes wouldn’t do this. The complicated drawing to make it difficult for a dyslexic person to see, much less understand. I’m not saying it’s bad I’m just saying it’s different. You might like it. The thing about the umbrella Academy is it something you absolutely have to pay attention to the entire time you are “watching it“ and it only takes a split second to completely change the storyline. That could also be happening in the graphic novel. If you have a difficult time understanding it having the story changed right in front of you, might miss it. I think I just wish the book was bigger. Maybe I could actually see what was going on on the page

Still going strong
Much like the first six books, these stories will frustrate you like your pesky younger brother...you’ll love them anyway. I absolutely love these characters and to see them finding their definition of family, no matter how screwed up, is powerful. Read it. You know you want to. Just read it. Now.

Great quality, great writing, great gift
This was a pretty sweet comic. I wasn't expecting much since I was not a big fan of Gerard Way, but after ordering Vol 1 and this one for my girlfriend for Christmas I had to at least take a look. It was very well done and very interesting, I felt a little bad reading through them both before I even wrapped them for her. Oh well, definitely a nice series, I need to get her more so I can read them...
