Amazing case!
This thing is absolutely amazing. It’s super secure and keeps out tidy toddler fingers. I absolutely love how it makes traveling with the Deck so much easier as I’ve been using the official case and it takes up a lot of room in my bag. The charging port is such a great convenience too, I love it. It’s difficult to open and it felt really scary opening and closing it at first, but I’ve had no issues yet with damage. No issues with joystick grips on at all. Fits inside perfectly with them on. My only negative feedback is it adds quite a bit of weight to the deck but I personally don’t find that too much of a problem.

Slim and solid
Provides a rock solid plastic shell with some tiny rubber panels to keep the deck from sliding. Solidly built with a loud “click” when snapped closed. This is form-fitting, so unclear on if thicker device skins or thumbstick extensions would fit. You can charge via USB-C port access with the case closed, but the vents are covered, so I would never place a powered-on Steam Deck into the case as there would be no ventilation. It is not easy to tell visually if the case closure is secured, so be careful picking up the device if you yourself did not recently clamp it down. The closure itself is hard enough to manipulate, that I would trust it in a small bag or backpack. Not much shock resistance here, as there is no cushioning of note, so while it protects from scratches and pressure from other objects in your bag, I wouldn’t trust protection of the internals from high drops onto hard surfaces. Overall, worth it if you want slim but solid protection while carrying the Steam Deck in your backpack or messenger bag.

Incredibly practical.
The perfect case. It protects your Steamdeck from getting crushed, protects the joysticks from getting mashed, and takes up very little room in my bag. I also like that you can charge the Steamdeck through the hole in the case. The click is loud when it snaps shut, which can be annoying, but how often are you snapping the thing open and shut. I'm leaving a review because my steamdeck slipped behind a mechanical chair on an airplane and I absolutely crushed the case. Somehow the steamdeck inside was completely unscathed. It is sleek and practical, just don't expect hard impacts like drops to be protected.

so close to perfect for my use
The Tomtoc Steam Deck case offers excellent protection in a sleek, hard-shell design. Its solid plastic exterior provides a robust barrier against impacts and scratches, giving me confidence that my Deck is safe during transport. The case fits the Steam Deck snugly, preventing it from rattling around, and the quality of the materials is evident. I appreciate the secure clasp mechanism and the precise molding that cradles the device. Inside, the fitted interior securely holds the Steam Deck, minimizing any movement. Unlike some other cases, like the DBRAND, the Tomtoc is completely removed when using the Steam Deck, meaning there's absolutely no added bulk during gameplay. One minor drawback is the lack of ventilation holes. While this contributes to the case's overall protective capabilities, it can lead to some heat buildup during demanding tasks, especially when I'm away from home. On occasion, this has caused my Steam Deck to go into standby mode. While this hasn't been a major issue, some added ventilation would be a welcome improvement. Despite this, the peace of mind knowing my Steam Deck is well-protected when not in use makes the Tomtoc case a great choice. If you're looking for a durable, hard-shell case that prioritizes protection and offers a completely unencumbered experience during gameplay, the Tomtoc is definitely worth considering.

Great case but may have an achilles heal (or 2).
I love this case and its the only one I use now. Its also the only SD case that will fit in my Fjallraven Ulvo L hip pack, including vs other slim tom-toc cases which I tried. It hs a couple flaws though: 1.) is they made the plastic SO close to the screen that in the center 2 square inches or so you can press it in and slightly tap the screen. So potentially a very hard direct hit from something right in the center could, possibly crack the screen. I don’t worry about it as I always have my battery pack blocking it anyway and it fits perfectly over the screen. Tomtoc could easily have raised it another 5mm and it wouldn’t compromise the slimness as the joystick covers protrude up like an entire inch anyway. 2.) Secondly the clasp folds in far enough when open that it touches the bottom 1/6 inch of screen, so if you were to quickly close it not realizing the clasp was pushed in you could possibly crack your screen that way. Would love to see these issues addressed in a V.2. Otherwise I love it, and despite these two minor flaws its the only case that fits my bag. I love the open charging port so I can charge it while in the case too.

Does its job, be careful opening!
The case included with my steam deck is too large to stuff in my small backpack, and I didn't want to risk damaging the joysticks on my deck, so I grabbed this to keep the volume down while still keeping some protection for the joysticks/buttons. The size is perfect to tetris my 100Wh portable power bank between the handles so that it takes up minimal room in my bag. It's nice that you can plug the deck in to charge while the case is closed, but be careful opening the case with a cable plugged in, as it will pinch the cable and this could damage your deck's Type-C port. A bigger notch cutout would still provide protection for the deck's screen and could prevent this issue. (Alternatively, just don't be a clumsy oaf like me.) I also kinda wish there were some cutouts for the vents, that way I could keep the deck plugged in and charging while it was on/doing updates, but hey, this thing does its job. As a bonus, when opened up, unfolded, and with the deck removed, it's the perfect size to act as a lap-protector for my 14 inch gaming laptop, keeping the bottom vents nice and clear while resting on my legs. Didn't expect this extra benefit, but I'll take it! Overall a good product, would recommend to others.

My Steam Deck’s New Everyday Case
This is my Steam Deck’s new permanent home. I bought the OLED model that came with the removable inner case, but I wanted something slimmer that still offered solid protection—and this Tomtoc case nailed it. It’s been through airports, business trips, hotel shuffles, and under-seat flights without any issues. The device stays well protected, and the case has held up great. One of my favorite features is the cutout around the USB-C port. I can charge the Deck without taking it out of the case, which fixes one of my biggest complaints with the OEM option. Overall, this is a 5-star product for me. Compact, durable, smart design—no regrets.

Killer looks, Extremely high quality and great use case(pun unintended)
The case is really well-built and looks great. It will fit in a backpack with a footprint slightly larger than that of the Deck, but significantly smaller than that of the original case. The cutout for charging is a nice touch. Great case for those who don't want to put a protector case around the Deck and add bulk, but need a carrying case. Cons: 1. The packaging it came it was very low grade. Not an issue since it came in an Amazon box 2. More of a nitpick. The case could have had vents to allow the Deck to run inside it. Tips for improvement: The empty space in between the grips is free real estate to add anothe compartment to store the charger/cables etc.

Dobre zabezpieczenie Steam Decka

Great protection, sleek design, and super portable but not without a couple of quirks
I bought the tomtoc Armor Case for my Steam Deck OLED because I needed something slim and protective that wouldn’t bulk up my backpack. After using it for a while, I’m honestly really happy with it. What I love about it: The fit is perfect. My Steam Deck feels super secure inside, it doesn’t move around at all. The case itself feels solid and tough, like it could take a drop or a bump without a problem. You can charge the Steam Deck without taking it out of the case, which is super convenient when you’re on the go. The semi-transparent smoky design looks really sleek and minimal, not too flashy but still cool. A few things to be aware of: The latch is a little stiff at first and clicks loudly when you open and close it. Not a huge deal, but it might catch you off guard the first time. There’s no ventilation when the case is closed, so if you play while charging inside the case, it could get warm. It won’t fit if you’re using big grips or certain kickstands. Mine fits fine, but if you like to add lots of accessories, you might need to double-check the size. Final thoughts: For me, this is a great everyday and travel case. It keeps my Steam Deck safe without being bulky and looks great too. I wouldn’t recommend leaving the Deck running inside the case for long sessions because of the heat, but for storage and transport, it’s perfect. If you want something protective and portable without adding bulk, I’d definitely recommend it.
